Sentimental post ahead…
Context: (There was a little boy this morning that just shined his little joy on me that has me reflecting…)
It’s that time again… Spring preschool portrait season has officially begun.
This week starts the long days, early mornings, camera batteries charging all night, processing late into the evening… and being very, very tired.
But. I’m so blessed to be tired.
For the past 10 years, I’ve had the honor of walking into preschools and daycares and being greeted by the sweetest faces. Tiny shoes running up to my backdrop, little voices asking if they look pretty, proud smiles, shy giggles, and sometimes even a few silly faces.
And every single one of those moments means the world to me.
I’ve photographed thousands of children over the years, but what never changes is the joy on their faces when they feel special for a moment in front of the camera. Capturing those smiles, those personalities, those little pieces of childhood… it truly fills my soul.
To the directors who trust me, the teachers who help wrangle the wiggles, and the parents who treasure these photos, Tristan Hankel who deals with me and whatever I bring her…thank you for allowing me to do something I love so deeply.
Ten years of little smiles… and I still love it just as much as the first day. ❤️
