While exploring around Tokyo, I stumbled upon this man fishing in a polluted river, seemingly engulfed by concrete that sprawled all around him.

It got me wondering, what this place would have been like before the mega-city emerged?

Was this river once teeming with life? Did a dense jungle stretch as far as the eye could see? Was the water in this river so clear you could see the bottom?

Well, who knows, but one thing is for sure; this man surely would have had better luck fishing in a time when nature and concrete hadn’t clashed so harshly.

While exploring Tokyo, I stumbled upon this scene of a man fishing in a polluted river, seemingly engulfed by concrete that sprawled all around him.

It got me wondering, what might this place have been like before the mega-city emerged?

Was this river once teeming with life? Did a dense jungle stretch as far as the eye could see? Was the water in this river so clear you could see the bottom?

Well, who knows, but one thing is for sure; this man surely would have had better luck fishing in a time when nature and concrete hadn’t clashed so dramatically.

• Stormy beach days >

As a hurricane approached Hawaii, and I decided to head to one of Hawaii’s most photographed beaches, thinking it would be fun to capture the beach’s less-seen stormy side. To our surprise, we ended up with beautiful ‘heavenly’ like conditions, and the best part there was not a single other person there. Here are some of the shots and I managed to get.

Throughout the rest of the rainy season, whenever the weather was its worst, we would head to a beach or hit the trails to capture a different facet of Hawaii. Can’t wait to share more from these adventures soon!
