As headshot photographers, we have the privilege of meeting an incredibly diverse and fascinating range of people from many industries and creative fields. While helping each person feel comfortable in front of the camera, we often find ourselves having meaningful and inspiring conversations. It got us thinking—how great would it be to share some of the stories and people we encounter every day? With that in mind, we’re excited to introduce a monthly feature highlighting headshot clients we think you’ll find just as interesting and inspiring as we do:
Meet Aubrey Lauren in our studio - a classically trained opera vocalist, esearcher, and educator whose work spans the realms of performance, pedagogy, and musicological inquiry. Originally from LaGrange, Illinois, she now resides in Kāneʻohe, Hawaiʻi, and is soon to begin her doctoral studies at the University of Auckland in Aotearoa, New Zealand. Her PhD research centers on vocal music in Eastern Germany after World War II, exploring the intricate intersections of politics and music in postwar society.
Through all facets of her work —research, performance, teaching, and composition— Aubrey remains guided by a deep belief in music’s power to connect, challenge, and uplift. She is particularly interested in how the human voice serves as both a personal and public instrument, capable of carrying stories across time, borders, and ideologies.
Aubrey’s passionate and powerful singing will be featured this December 25th at- 1pm at the Parker United Methodist Church in Kaneohe. The solo concert will feature traditional carols from 1800 and before. Relax and enjoy the music as you sip hot cocoa. Free entry with canned food donations for Hawaii Foodbank. Learn more
