back by popular demand, the photoshoot bts is back! one of my favorite parts about engagement sessions is getting to know my couples before the wedding day 🥹

we get to hang out, laugh a lot, figure out what feels natural in front of the camera, and somewhere along the way it stops feeling like a photoshoot at all.

by the time the wedding comes around, we’re not strangers anymore and I think that makes such a difference. you already know how I work, I know what makes you two you, and we get to pick up right where we left off 🤍

something i’ve noticed from talking to couples lately is that somehow, even eloping has started to feel… overwhelming.

where do we go? do we need a permit? how many hours do we need? do we need an officiant? flowers? a planner? what time should we do it? what if we don’t know exactly what we want yet?

i think that’s part of what makes eloping so special in the first place. you get to strip everything back and decide what actually matters to the two of you.

maybe it’s exchanging vows at sunrise, taking your time exploring somewhere beautiful together, popping ch*****ne, and ending the night with a really good dinner.

that can be the whole wedding day.

you don’t need to come to me with every detail figured out either. sometimes “we want to elope in hawaiʻi and we want it to feel intimate and beautiful” is more than enough of a starting point.

the logistics can be figured out. the day itself should still feel like you. 🤍

Alizé & Gil 🤍 a few sneak peeks from one of my favorite days at Loulu Palm.

the kind of wedding day that felt so easy to photograph: warm, colorful, full of movement, and so much joy everywhere I looked. I kept catching myself thinking “okay wait, one more” because there was always another little moment happening somewhere.

days like this are such a reminder of why I love documenting weddings the way I do. the big beautiful moments, of course, but especially all the in-between ones that you don’t realize you’ll want to remember until you see them again.

I already shared my first flight, but never the part where I opened the box and realized I now own a camera that… flies lol.

One of my favorite things about photography is that there’s always another way to see something. Lately I’ve been thinking more about how I can document not only the people and little moments of a wedding day, but the place surrounding them too, like the landscape, the scale, the feeling of being there.

so naturally, this felt like the next thing to learn.

currently: very excited, slightly nervous, and finding even more ways to tell a wedding day story 🤍

lately, I’ve been thinking about how becoming a better photographer isn’t always about buying new gear, learning another editing trick, or following every trend.

sometimes it looks like slowing down, studying the fundamentals, making space for creativity, and learning to see things differently.

📖 The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron has been helping me work through creative blocks, rebuild creative confidence, and make inspiration part of my everyday life.
📖 The Future Is Analog by David Sax has encouraged me to slow down, embrace imperfection, and think more intentionally about why I’m drawn to film, Super 8, and photographs that feel tangible and human.
📖 Digital Photography Masterclass by Tom Ang has brought me back to the foundations of light, composition, and technique so I can make stronger creative decisions in the moment, especially during the beautiful unpredictability of a wedding day.

I spend so much time creating visual work that I sometimes forget how valuable it is to step away from the screen and learn in a completely different way. Reading has been giving me fresh language, new perspectives, and ideas I can carry back into my photography.

consider this your reminder that your next creative breakthrough might not come from a new camera...it might be waiting inside a book 🤍

one thing I’ve really loved about photography is how it keeps giving me reasons to learn something new. film, super 8, scanning my own negatives, and now apparently… flying things through the sky lol.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how I want to document weddings beyond just the obvious moments: the landscape, the scale of a place, the way everything feels when you step back and see the whole scene.

so excited to add this new perspective to the way I document your days. still learning, still experimenting, and honestly loving being a beginner at something again 🤍 DJI

I truly think the future is analog. 🎞️ I’ve been loving scanning my own film at home lately. It definitely takes longer, but there’s something so rewarding about slowing down and being part of the process from start to finish. I love having more control over how my film comes to life and honestly, I think the process is part of what makes it so special. if you’ve been thinking about adding film to your wedding, let’s talk!!!!

Still riding the high from this day 🥹 Getting to see J & D again meant so much to me. Just last year we were together for their couples photos, and getting to see things come full circle this time around made my heart so warm.

They are truly the sweetest people, and it means more than I can say when couples come back and trust me to document another chapter of their lives. I put so much of my heart into this work, and moments like these are such a sweet reminder of why 🤍
