Happy family of four, referred to me by another client. ❤️ Danielle Mistretta Cooper Thanks so much! I love it when clients send me clients… all of whom become friends. ☺️ This particular session was a family photo shoot, integrated with senior portraits for the daughter. I will show her pictures another day here real soon.

This beach evening was amazing last month. All the variation of texture and color at Halona Beach Cove make for interesting artistic play. 🏖️

Did you know the majority of my clients find me by word-of-mouth? And secondly, by Google reviews. Maybe you photography friends have found the same thing. 📷 I’d love to hear in the comments below.

What about Instagram and Facebook? That’s not usually where my new clients come from. And while I enjoy adding to my portfolio here when I can, it’s not my favorite use of time. I’d rather be out taking pictures, even though all of you are much appreciated for your support here. 🤗😉

My 2 Westcott Lighting speedlights were my light choice for this night. Very fitting for our climbing, jumping, and moving-place-to-place adventure. 💡

Last Saturday’s HonorFlight Hawaii Welcome Home celebration continued after their gate arrival, in a conference room at the Honolulu Airport. ✈️ So much love and support could be felt immediately by family members, friends, and volunteers. 🇺🇸

Included below is a thank you from Hawaiian Islands Honor Flight’s Vice President. It so beautifully encapsulates the heart behind the event. Enjoy! 🌺

“From the bottom of our hearts, mahalo Nui Loa for volunteering your time and energy to welcome home our veterans on Saturday, October 10th.

Because of your compassion, spirit of service, and hard work, the Welcome Home celebration for the Hawaiian Islands Honor Flight was an unforgettable, moving experience for our honored veterans and their families.

Your support was felt at every step of the day:

A Warm Welcome: Greeting our veterans with warm smiles and heartfelt gratitude as they deplaned made them feel truly celebrated the moment they returned home. Photographing the Veterans and their families leaving them with many tangible memories of the day.

Spreading Patriotism: Handing out flags gave the crowd a vibrant sea of red, white, and blue to honor our heroes.

Behind-the-Scenes Muscle: Setting up tables and chairs and assisting with luggage at baggage claim ensured everything ran smoothly, comfortably, and safely.

Compassionate Care: Most importantly, your attentive care ensured our veterans were safe, respected, and well looked after throughout the entire arrival.

An event of this magnitude simply would not be possible without dedicated volunteers like you. You helped give our veterans the hero’s welcome they rightfully earned and will never forget.

Thank you for being part of our mission and sharing the true spirit of aloha with our nation’s heroes. We hope to see you again at our next event!

Do you know about the Honor Flight Network program? 🇺🇸 “Our Mission: To celebrate America’s Veterans by inviting them to share in a day of honor at our nation’s memorials.” An amazing organization and opportunity…

Last Saturday, I had the privilege of volunteering as photographer with HonorFlight Hawaii at Honolulu’s Daniel K Inouye Airport. So uplifting to witness the happy, grateful Veterans and travel crew as they returned from their trip to America’s Capitol.

Congressman Ed Case kindly waited at the gate with our large support crew to properly welcome the travelers home, alongside signs, leis, hula, ukes, and honor guard. 🌞

Enjoy this first of two (will share more tomorrow) sets, covering Hawaii’s Honor Flight return. 🌺✈️

Oh, happy young sibling years! 🌺🏝️

Photography offers a great “excuse” for getting out on the beach at sunset with friends and loved ones. 🤗 Grateful for our Aiea Heights Church connection with these lovely two and their parents. Katya Joy Myers

My aim was to show the 9- and 10-year olds’ connection and bond, as well as their individual God-given personalities. 🙏 📷 Did we succeed? Regardless, it was a LOVELY clear sunset, with plenty of memorable laughs and relationship-building.

Thankful for that punch of light 💡 provided by full power from my Westcott Lighting (one on each of my two NikonUSA cameras - and ).

Hawaii is typically so beautifully BRIGHT ☀️ that using flash (on- or off-camera) to lightly fill faces and shadows becomes a relief when aiming for sharpness, accurate color, and fewer hours editing… 🖼️

I hope these images bring a smile to your face. 😃 Would be happy to photograph the siblings in YOUR family too! 👦👧

Portrait lighting lessons, , beautiful color, talented models, new friends, amazing teacher - D’Ann Boal for NikonUSA . 📷💡 This is PhotoCON Hawai’i !

I know if D’Ann Boal and I lived close, we’d fast become good friends. 🤗 So many connecting points around family, kids, photog, etc.… Keep reaching for the skies, D’Ann !

Tristy Travels was a treat to photograph again, even with smoky effects 💨😀; several newer-to-me models like gracie butler ⋆˙⟡ displayed eagerness to patiently pose while we photographers tried new lighting techniques and Profoto gels.

Ric Noyle showed us his photog stuff/support at our sunrise session, while Jeff Mitchell and Michael Dionne supported D’ann and students with all the Nikon we could ask for. 😀

Stacey Williams - Hawaii Realtor and I had the pleasure of meeting and talking at length at an Air Force retirement event a little over a year ago. I was excited to see her name and photography business on the agenda for Hawaii‘s photo conference. 🌺 She open opened the minds of her photography students to considering a honed-in, focused niche … rather than being a photographer who “does it all” just to make a little money here and there.

Still relishing in the amazing Oahu photography event that was PhotoCON Hawai’i 2026 ! 👏 📷

Thank you Ric Noyle , our fearless visionary, organizer, and host of this recurring and now Hawaii-infamous 🌴 photography, videography, tech, and media conference. So much learning + numerous networking opportunities! ☀️

Last Thursday, I volunteered for set up, name tags, and check-in at the exquisite Capitol Modern location downtown, where I made new friends and reconnected with old. 😃 Great way to start the conference…

A blessing 🙏 was given on the front lawn before the first night’s keynote speaker kicked things off. Wayne Levin shared his incredible career collection of underwater black/white images across decades of observing sharks, whales, and much more.

aio Studios kindly shared with us their premiere movie on Wayne’s outstanding career in, “Through the Liquid Mirror.” Privileged to have shared in this celebration. 🎊

Thank you, ALIKALEO PARK and Zak Noyle for your genuine event hospitality; you and your parents show an authentic, smile-filled care for the hundreds of attendees, speakers, and vendors. Your joy is contagious! 🌺

I hope to share PhotoCon pics this week from workshops and classes attended. 📷 For now, I will fold everything I learned into the creative portion of my mind and allow it to integrate slowly into what’s already there. 🖼️ Hopefully my work becomes more beautiful, more excellent, and more true to my mind, eye, and heart. And may it bring glory to God….

Exquisite views of Pearl Harbor and a gorgeous deep blue sky 🌌, just as Morning Colors 🎵 guided our way onto historic . Sometimes I marvel at the opportunities I’ve been given - I have the privilege to record these “forever military memories” with my camera. 📷 Lovely and humble people, definitely a day worthy of much celebration. 🎊

Those who know me well as a photographer, know that my favorite events to cover are military ceremonies. And the picturesque spots here on Oahu add to the sentiment and beauty of these occasions. 🌅

On the move with some favorite people! 🍁

Me moving ALL over the beach with this beautiful family last week; them moving ALL the way back to the mainland this week. 🏡

My husband and I had a wonderful time watching the sun set and chatting with these friends five days before their PCS. 📦

Sweet opportunity to have done church and military life together for the last few years. An added joy to photograph people I know. 🌺 Looking forward to keeping in touch and watching these three daughters, and future siblings, grow up.

As always, thankful for my Westcott Lighting FJ 80ii on-camera speed lights for my two cameras when working with an active family on the beach. Just enough “pop” 💡 to keep correct color and to add some light to the eyes… Photog friends, have you tried on-camera flash?

May God‘s peace, purpose, and joy be your guiding light! 🙏 Happy Fall season…. 🍁

27 years, … awesome & supportive family. Retired now, under the beautiful Hawaiian sun! 🌞

🇺🇸 Thank you for your service to country and your example of sacrificial leadership…

Another beautiful celebration, last month, on this picturesque Island of Oahu. 🏝️ Even more special to me as this wonderful military spouse and I grew up together during our toddler years in San Francisco! Our mothers kept in touch, so we loosely stayed abreast of one another’s lives over many years. 👶 👶 A total privilege and special milestone for me to photograph this retirement ceremony, and see family friends from decades ago. ❤️
