Preschool & Kinder Graduation Portraits are here 🤍

I’ve been photographing these little grads for over a decade, and I still can’t get over how sweet 4- and 5-year-olds look in their caps and gowns (those tiny, slightly-too-big caps get me every time).

For this session, girls can wear classic drapes and boys can wear tuxedos—styled to mirror what they’ll wear years from now as high school seniors.

And for real? Can you even imagine having those side-by-side one day when they’re 17 or 18? 🥺

I am one of the very few photographers I know who buys their kids’ school photos.

And I’d love to tell you it’s only because I think my kids are so cute - which I totally think they are. But it’s really a combination of that AND because I love the distinct and somewhat stereotypical aesthetic to their school pictures in the way that I love my novelty sunglass collection.

Despite the kick I get out of their school pictures, they are rarely ever my favorite photos of my kids.

Some years the lighting isn’t spot on.
Sometimes the background doesn’t match their clothes or anything in my house - so putting them up doesn’t always happen. And about half the time their smiles aren’t really theirs. And really and truly I haven’t given their school photos to anyone in our family in years.

This is my third year hosting a back to school picture day to offer something different than what you’d typically get at school.

Real smiles. Simple, neutral backdrops.

But most importantly, pictures that you and your kids will love and want to share with family.

Pictures help me remember.

It’s not uncommon for me to ask in a conversation, “Did I tell you this story already?” Because, I honestly can’t remember.

Pictures help me with the details. The little ponies that could only be held by a tiny rubber band. How tiny those hands actually were.

We can’t stop time, but we can hold it even if just for a bit.

Yesterday, at my kid’s ortho appointment a grandmother shared her worries with me—her granddaughter has to choose a college soon, and her two top choices are out of state. It’s just sinking in that visits might be limited to summers and holidays.

I understand her longing to hold onto this season of life. But time moves forward, whether we’re ready or not.

Instead of holding on, let’s celebrate—these last two months of school, prom, grad parties, and all the little moments in between.

We can hold onto that happiness. ❤️

Congrats to all the local businesses and really, truly hard working, amazing people behind the businesses that were specially acknowledged.

Thank you so much to the and but most of all thank you to the clients past and present who took the time to share their support for my small business.
