Bicycle Showband Crescendo, a bicycling-riding marching band from the Netherlands, wowed Tulip Time crowds during the group’s first visit to the U.S.

On May 24, 2023, I heard a train approaching Holland, Michigan after ending my day at the education communications firm I assist. I then headed 🚴‍♂️ towards the track (which is about a neighborhood block-length away from the communication firm) and spotted CSX train M326 in the distance, led by ES44AH locomotive No. 3220 and SD70MAC locomotive No. 4526. I wasn't expecting to see a train on this day but I was in the "right place at the right time"! 😉

Holland High School’s 150th (Sesquicentennial) Commencement 👩‍🎓👨‍🎓 (Class of 2023) ceremony at Hope College's DeVos Fieldhouse in Holland, Michigan, May 23, 2023. Congrats to my young friends and the children of my long-time classmates & former co-workers who graduated in this class! After documenting 📸 Walkerville High School's Class of 2023 commencement 👩‍🎓👨‍🎓 on May 21, 2023, me and my friend proceeded 🚗 towards Whitehall, Michigan for dinner. 🍔🍺 Passing through Montague, Michigan, we paralleled the South end of the 22.5 mile William Field Memorial Hart-Montague Trail State Park (a bicycle trail 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️ built on the abandoned PM / C&O railroad right-of-way between the two communities). Entering Whitehall, the White Lake Pathway was alongside us and we spotted the former Pere Marquette Railway Montague / Whitehall freight station, now home of the White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau, and ex-Chesapeake & Ohio Railway wooden caboose No. 90702 in the distance. After dinner, we returned to the former depot to get these shots of the caboose before continuing our journey 🚗 towards Holland, Michigan. 😉

Tulip Time Festival’s 🌷 Skerbeck Entertainment Group, Inc. Carnival 🎡 at the Holland Civic Center and around downtown Holland, Michigan, May 14, 2023. With this being the last day of the 94th annual festival, I ended my documentation 📸 here. It was great seeing everyone (friends, Holland , former co-workers, classmates, former HPS students & school parents, family, and new friends). I had a great time talking 🗣 community history with the tourists visiting from across the country! I hope you all enjoyed these sights (from my eyes 👀) of the 2023 Tulip Time Festival! 🌷 Until next time.... Enjoy! 😉
