Let's play Wedding Wednesday again! You'll probably get to see a little more of this wedding in the future because it was a spring morning wedding in Savannah. There are several unique things that stood out about this wedding, but being a morning wedding meant we were playing in morning light instead of evening light, which is a little more common. This set up right outside the church was perfect for the time of year and time of day and this couple. I just kept squealing and saying one more when the sun peaked through the buildings and trees, creating the soft glow of the spring morning. Well played Rustines, well played.

Cap and Gown Sessions. Let's talk about 'em. When a senior is checking off their list and gets their senior portraits scheduled, usually that is the summer before or the fall of their senior year. One of the difficulties of that is getting that quintessential shot in your cap and gown. Many times there isn't access to the school's cap and gown in the fall and you have to wait until spring to get your hands on it, so you can't get those shots at the initial session. Whattaya do?

I offer 2 options for graduating seniors - 1. If you do a custom session with me in the summer or fall or even early spring and can't get your cap & gown shots done at that time, I offer a complimentary mini session with them to complete your gallery. When you get your cap & gown and cords/honors, we get together and have some fun. 2. If you didn't do a custom session with me prior, we can still do a cap and gown session at a minisession rate. That way you don't have to miss out!

It's also a great time to bring mom and dad or siblings or friends to celebrate the end of the year! Give me a call to get the ball rolling!

Well, if you do a 1 year old donut cake smash, you have to post it on 🍩 Miss Georgia was a donut ballerina for her 1 year old portraits.

Cake smashes are such a fun way to celebrate the first birthday because 1 year olds don't care what they look like when they get a cake to themselves! I like a simple set up but the sky is the limit when it comes to themes for this special event. If you were doing a cake smash for YOUR birthday, what would it be?! Can you guess mine? 😜

Today, I'm posting a little more on the personal side. Just wanted to ask for y'all to continue to remember our daughter and son-in-law, Breana and Matthew, and their family. Isla Ann was born 5 weeks early and has been in the NICU to catch up on growing that she didn't get to do inside her momma. The last hurdle she needs to cross is eating enough on her own. She has come off oxygen and the bilirubin light and moved to a "big girl" bed in her little pod, but we just have this one last thing. We have seen improvement over the last week, but momma and daddy are tired and big brother is ready to meet his baby sister (he can't visit the NICU). Will you please pray with us that Isla can meet her feeding goals and come home soon! We are so grateful for a healthy baby because we are very aware of other alternatives. This Mammy is just ready to do some newborn portraits with my first granddaughter!

When should you book your senior session? (Earlier than you think.)

The sweet spot is late spring or summer before senior year — when there's no school stress and you have time to plan outfits, pick locations, and actually enjoy it.

Fall sessions fill up fast. If you're thinking about booking, now is the time — not after school starts.

Senior photos for guys don't have to be awkward. Promise.

I know — most guys aren't exactly excited about a photo session. But I've photographed enough senior boys to know that when the setting fits them and there's no pressure to perform, the photos turn out incredible.

Sports gear. Their car. A location that means something to them. We make it work for who they actually are.

Do you have a very specific vision for your Senior images? Ireland did and I loved helping her bring her vision to life. Part of my full service approach is to sit down together BEFORE your session and we plan it out together. You get to explain your ideas and I get to help make them a reality. Wardrobe consultation, accessories and props, and places is all a part of that plan and I think it is part of the magic.

I decided this week should probably be senior week since it is graduation season. Stay tuned for a sampling of my senior besties taking the next step in life. Congratulations Ireland!

20 tiny fingers and 20 tiny toes! Do you know the best time to come in for a newborn session? When you have a newborn! This year I've seen babies from 10 days to 5 weeks and they all have beautiful portraits to show from it. We say the ideal time is between 7 and 14 days, but don't give up if your baby is a little older. It may change some of the poses, but your little one is still tiny and it will still show how new and precious they are. I do not have any cut offs or rules when it comes to baby's age. Please call and make sure you have portraits of your sweet little one to look back on!

Two may be double the work, but they are double the fun! Thankful for my assistant on a day when everyone's hands are full!
