At the end of the evening, it’s always so special to take some time for a few sunset photos. Not just because the light is exceptional, but it also gives the bride and groom some time to just be together.

To me it feels like these photos represent a sort of seal on the vows two people have just made to one another—a final moment to pause before stepping into the rest of their lives together.

Emma and Lance were even gifted a little rain which kinda felt like a symbol of new beginnings. It was a great honor to photograph their day for them.

I thought this would be a great way to start off my series documenting this summer’s photo journey. So many beautiful people and places I have photographed along the way.

Starting with Avila. I think this series of photos means so much to me because it represents the love we have for our animals and the bond we create with them.

Choosing a warm, moody time of day, really amplifies the emotion that exists between two souls.

Spending time with the Sampsels during lambing season was a reminder of just how much dedication goes into this way of life. The care they put into giving the next generation of livestock the best possible start is an experience I wish more people in this nation were able to be a part of — and watching the next generation of agricultural leaders learning right alongside them made it even more meaningful.

I There is something so beautiful about this simple moment as she fixes his hair, calm and unhurried. It’s a perfect reflection of who Whitney is as she steps into this chapter of motherhood.
What makes this so special to me is the privilege of witnessing different seasons of a couple’s life. From senior pictures, to engagement, to their wedding day, and now this — I’ve had a small window into the evolution of their story, and that is something I never take for granted. It’s rare, and it’s a privilege for me.

In a world where social media has become king of so many areas of our life, I find myself feeling more and more inclined to shy away from all the hype of it.
I still live in a world where instagram is about posting pretty pictures. (Even if it’s just in my head.) Pictures with great depth, emotion and most of all, a true representation of love.
So if you’re craving something simple and true, here is Love in its rawest form. You can’t sell love and you can’t make it something it’s not. It just is. And it’s the most beautiful thing we have on this planet.
It’s a great honor to photograph Anna & Anders love story.

We don’t always need a beautiful sunny day to get some incredible shots! May and June are always giving me some of the most beautiful moody skies. Sometimes we have to work around the rain a little but don’t let it scare you!
