Animals show us we can have compassion, despite our differences in background.

A little bird hit the sliding glass door and I thought he was dead. I plucked him out of the snowbank and lo and behold he was alive!!
He was so precious I had to take a photo. While I was doing that Boone slipped past me out the door and came around to investigate. I like to think that he was offering him so words of encouragement. Boone and I left to go feed the sheep and when I came back he had flown away. I would like to think I still see him every day at the feeder.
Ps getting some clings to put on the door to keep them all safe.

I’m headed to Scotland in a few weeks. And I’m excited. It has to do with dogs of course. I’m going to be a spectator of the World Sheep Dog Trial to cheer on my friend Jamie Spring Jamie and her dog Monster. Plus visit my beautiful friend British Equestrian Oil Painter and see her home in England!

And the photos: I wanted to share these two because directly after I get back, I will shoot their wedding! I think the experience of Scotland will inspire my work moving forward. New places always bring new sight.

This week we have Carson. An incredible musician. I have to say this last month I’ve had the privilege to photograph three different people with musical talent. That is one bucket list item I have so far, not fulfilled is learning to play an instrument.
Carson plays the cello and let me tell you there is nothing like hearing that deep string sound in the middle of the prairie. I was in awe! The things I get to experience with my job!

Fast forward from early summer to this recent shoot, which happened to fall on one of the only days we weren’t covered in smoke for weeks. We definitely lucked out.
