Spending time with the Sampsels during lambing season was a reminder of just how much dedication goes into this way of life. The care they put into giving the next generation of livestock the best possible start is an experience I wish more people in this nation were able to be a part of — and watching the next generation of agricultural leaders learning right alongside them made it even more meaningful.

I There is something so beautiful about this simple moment as she fixes his hair, calm and unhurried. It’s a perfect reflection of who Whitney is as she steps into this chapter of motherhood.
What makes this so special to me is the privilege of witnessing different seasons of a couple’s life. From senior pictures, to engagement, to their wedding day, and now this — I’ve had a small window into the evolution of their story, and that is something I never take for granted. It’s rare, and it’s a privilege for me.

In a world where social media has become king of so many areas of our life, I find myself feeling more and more inclined to shy away from all the hype of it.
I still live in a world where instagram is about posting pretty pictures. (Even if it’s just in my head.) Pictures with great depth, emotion and most of all, a true representation of love.
So if you’re craving something simple and true, here is Love in its rawest form. You can’t sell love and you can’t make it something it’s not. It just is. And it’s the most beautiful thing we have on this planet.
It’s a great honor to photograph Anna & Anders love story.

A Montana Family photoshoot from last summer. Kelsi and Tanner have been my people for years, but getting to meet the whole crew—grandparents, kids, grandkids made this so meaningful for me. I wanted to capture the bond that was built over generations. I can’t get enough of shoots like this!

And here’s the other half of this Sister, Sister duo...
Same location, same light, same shoot... and yet completely different.
That’s one of my favorite things about photographing people. Even twins, who share so much, bring their own energy and presence. Each person’s light brings a new aspect to a photograph.
The secret to making photos feel individual is engaging with each person’s light. Even in the same setting, we can create something that is so unique to the person.
And that’s what I love about my job!
