11 years, I pursued my passion of educating our young adults- the new movers and shakers of our society. I have faced my biases because of these scholars. I learned about students, their circumstances and what makes them strong. Hopefully, I’ve taught them that the will not change the world “one day” because in many ways they already have.
I have never been so sure of the decision I made when I entered my classroom for the first time. The lack of supplies and resources available to both myself and my students surprised me at first and ultimately became my “new normal.”
One goal my husband .us and I have is to help our community we started teaching in even more.
I’m taking my “summer break” in hopes of recharging and regaining insight but more importantly, creating more projects that will assist the future of students to come.
