With the past couple years it has been a minute since I've been able to regularly share photos. I'm looking to turn that around though now.

I reposted this photo I took of President Joe Biden / Joe Biden over on my Instagram back when the election was called. Seems appropriate to post today.

This was taken as he greeted the crowd outside the train station when he was in Hoboken in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

I mostly share my music and performance work here, and obviously that’s been a bit slow this year.

Today is a bit more lively though. Our friends at the Brooklyn Drum Collective have put out a compilation of live songs from their July 19th, 2019 showcase at Our Wicked Lady with True Dreams, Catty, Bizarre Sharks, and PowerSnap.

This one may sound familiar as I covered it for the BDC, and some of those shots have been making the rounds this week. A bunch are included in the media on this as well.

Give it a listen and a download, as it’s a collection of a ton of great music and humans at every part of the production.

Breaking the photo haitus with a shot of my good friend Ron Santee of The Battery Electric livestreaming a performance from LA tonight.

I'm primarially a concert and all-things-live-performance/event photographer, as that's where my heart is. So it's been tough to keep focused on anything as far as craft goes.

One of my favorite challenges is shooting a good show in a visually crap venue and trying to catch images that convey the energy, feel, etc despite whatever stage visual problems. For whatever reason I thought to grab my Nikon and try to get a shot of exactly how I was taking in Ron's performance tonight.

This is it. My phone streaming on the coffee table while I ate dinner. In my apartment. Truely a crappy venue (lol) but a great and happy time. I needed it.

I may make this a series as I catch more streaming shows and play with composition etc, not sure. It's been tough, but it felt great to try to catch a decent shot of a performer while framing the environment. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I was not covering the whole festival this year, but so happy to have been shooting for Lowlight at their set at Sea Hear Now this year.

As some of the hardest-working musicians I know, it's great to get to document them as they get perform on such a great (and large!) stage and event in Asbury Park.

I haven't photographed the Tribute in Lights in three or four years, and I've never shot it from Manhattan. I have also never photographed the Memorial.

So tonight I ventured out and got some shots from the Memorial and area around the WTC and where the Lights are based in Battery Park.

It was certainly a very different vibe, and a lot more people (even at 11pm on a Wednesday) than anywhere else I've photographed the lights from.
