I’m going to address this once because I will ALWAYS take care of my clients and I will always stand behind my business. ❤️
Yes, there have been times throughout the years where I have had to cancel or reschedule sessions because of my own family emergencies, sickness, health issues, deaths in our families, etc. just like ANYONE else may have to do. I have always done my best to communicate, make things right, and work with people because that is the kind of photographer and person I strive to be.
That being said, I have had the SAME policy since the day I started photography: DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE, but they are transferable one time if I have to cancel and one time if the CLIENT cancels, unless the cancellation is due to weather or a family emergency. This policy has never been a secret, and my longtime clients know I have always tried to work with them when life happens.
The screenshots being posted tell only PART of the story. What conveniently wasn’t included were the MANY phone calls made by her ex-husband cancelling appointment after appointment after appointment. These conversations happened over a year ago. There was a phone call requesting a refund for a haircut, a phone call telling me one of the children was sick, and another phone call where I was told they were having marital problems. These were cancellations made by the ex-husband. None of those phone conversations can be shown in a screenshot because they were PHONE CALLS.
My longtime clients know me. They know I will bend over backwards to work around sickness, emergencies, family situations and life circumstances. I have never expected anyone to put a photography session above their family. But I also cannot be expected to refund a deposit over a year later because of circumstances surrounding a divorce when the appointments were cancelled by the person who booked them.
I’m not going to argue, bash anyone, or drag personal situations into the public. I simply will not allow my business or my character to be misrepresented. There are always two sides to a story, and screenshots without the full context do not tell the whole story.
I love my clients. I appreciate every single person who has trusted me to capture their memories, and I will continue to treat people fairly, honor my policies, and do everything I can to make things right when life happens. ❤️
That’s all I have to say on this matter. I’m moving forward and continuing to do what I love. 📸
