Summer has a way of slowing everything down.
The mornings aren't rushed. The alarms are silenced. The to-do lists can wait. Instead, it's bare feet in the grass, messy hair, cartoons still playing in the background, and one more cup of coffee before the day really begins. Somewhere in the middle of these slow mornings, I find myself noticing how quickly everything is changing.
Kellan will be 8 this summer. His little hands that once reached for mine are growing more independent. The babies who needed to be carried are running ahead. The faces I see every day somehow look a little older than they did yesterday.
It's funny how we spend so much of parenthood exhausted, counting down to the next milestone, only to realize later that we would give anything to hold onto these ordinary moments just a little longer.
So this summer, I'm trying to soak it all in. The slow mornings, endless snacks, the laughter from the next room, and the messy house. Because one day, these will be the moments I miss the most.
While editing this beautiful session, I can imagine their mama feels a little like I'm feeling right now. These babies just grow too fast. Their beautiful session took place at The McGarity House and it every bit of perfect.
