Couples, family, seniors, maternity & more Hi! haha kidding (well, sort of). I'm your girl!

My name is Gabby (Emilia is my 7 year old daughter, haha) and I am a Hilton Head based Family Photographer! My interest piqued in photography once it really sunk in that both motherhood and childhood are full of fleeting moments. In an effort to freeze some of the sweet fleeting moments of my own daughter, Emilia Jane Photography was born. Now Emilia will never let me take her photo so I take everyone else's.. Anyways, if you're looking for moments to last a lifetime..

I get the hype over beach sessions, I truly do. But the Spanish moss trees are what really makes this place feel like the Lowcountry. These legacy oaks are over 350 years old and there’s a certain aura of magic surrounding them that’s so deeply peaceful and uplifting. I love the dense greenery from the ferns that grow along the branches and how the sunlight dances as the moss moves in the wind. I’ll always be a beach photographer (I’ve spent too many years perfecting it, so I’m going nowhere.. don’t worry haha) but these trees are pretty high up on my location recommendation list.

I’m often reminded by my clients that the art we make together lives on the walls of their homes and in photo albums that are passed around at family gatherings and quiet moments cuddling on the couch reminiscing about “the good old days”. These fleeting, in-between moments become a staple piece of your story. These images shape how you remember this season of life and how you see yourself within it, long after it’s passed.

This work is so much more than snapping a few photos. It’s so incredibly beautiful and deeply meaningful. Getting to do this for a living is an honor that will never be lost on me. Thankful for each and every one of you endlessly.

xoxo

A majority of the photos I take are of extended families. Moms, dads, uncles, aunts, grandparents, kiddos.. the whole bunch. To just about any photographer, this can seem like an extremely daunting task. Getting 12 or 35 people to all look at a camera and smile is no easy feat. However, these photos are so meaningful to my clients and the photoshoots truly just feel like a fun family get together. I won’t call it easy- but there’s absolutely nothing else I’d rather do.

I’m in awe of my clients that take a week out of their busy life and fly from all over the country to meet up here on HHI for their annual family vacation. To some it may seem routine, but to me, it’s truly extraordinary. I don’t have a close knit family (I’m marrying into one, HALLELUJAH) and gatherings like this are pretty nonexistent where I come from. I hope y’all know how special this is. And how honored I am to be a small part of it.

Last trip to see Alex in the desert. And if I’m honest, it was a little bittersweet. As much as I won’t miss the 2,300 miles between us, this chapter of our life was so impactful in the best ways. In less than 4 months, I’ll have a husband. And shortly thereafter, we’ll be in the same zip code and under the same roof and I’ll be getting those “overhead in 5” texts on a more frequent basis. 2026 is a big year for us 👰🏻‍♀️🤵🏼‍♂️💍🏡✈️📚👩🏻‍🎓 I can’t wait to have him home.

Pinch me 🥰✨

Living vicariously through this sun drenched sunrise session. It’s been dreary and rainy for nearly a week straight and I cannot handle another day of it 🤣 I’ve said it before but I must echo the enjoyment I’m having being in my bridal era with all of my brides + engagement couples!! And even if I’m just doing your engagements & not photographing the wedding because y’all live in no man’s land Ohio (haha sorry 🤣 I’m from there so I can say it), I’m watching from afar and loving every second 🥰🥰 cheers my fellow bridal pals!

There’s something so romantic and magical about Spanish moss… how it frames the light and holds the stillness. How it moves in the breeze and sprinkles sunlight around like a kaleidoscope. It gathers every bit of quiet magic in the Lowcountry and drapes it right above you. Photographing love stories and families under the canopy of these beautiful trees is my favorite. I love these trees so much that when Alex and I were looking for a home, I outlined only a few select areas where the trees were most of the charm and refused to settle elsewhere 🤣 (sorry for being stubborn, Alex)

Because living here and creating here feels like stepping into a storybook every single day. It’s a place where the light lingers and the landscapes themselves become part of the memory. This is home. And it’s the backdrop I feel endlessly grateful to photograph.
