The original house had been designed by Jefferson for his good friend Dabney Carr, but that one burned in an arson fire in 1915 and was rebuilt with major changes. Still, it was impressive to live there. There was a widow's walk up on the roof and you could see for miles in every direction. The basement had a filled-in tunnel to the guest house from back when the kitchen was on the lower level of the original home. Loved living there, even with the rusty well water, the electricity and phone service going off twice a week (the wires had to come all the way down the driveway from Rio Rd. and there were plenty of tree limbs to knock them down). There were about five of the original slave houses still standing, and the family owners even rented those out to horribly poor people as sort of the last rung before homelessness.

This is a beautiful estate house that was once known as the “Weston View”. In an old community known as “Pullens”. It was Built in 1890. The design came from the famous Palliser Brothers Victorian House plan design book of 1878. It has 4 bedrooms and 2 baths on 169 acres. It was for sale however the listing was unlisted around July 2022.

$700 for weekdays (Sunday-Thursday)
$1000 on weekends (Friday-Saturday) for up to 10 people.

Additional guests above 10 are pro-rated from the base price. Non refundable Deposit is half which reserves your date and the remainder is due upon arrival.

Includes access to a common room in the commercial building (tan building that says office) where you are welcome to set up your equipment and sleeping bags, bathrooms and a kitchenette. Climate controlled building

⛔️Starting in late spring 2023 the common room will be located in the 1922 Superintendent’s Residence. Also new in 2023, the base price will include sitewide high speed wi-fi access to allow for live streaming. Upgraded accommodations in addition to the common room are also available.⛔️

3️⃣Non Exclusive Tuesday’s
For smaller groups or individuals, that can forego exclusive access to the facilities, we are offering a weekly public investigation every Tuesday.

💲 Price- Tickets for our non-exclusive overnights will be $100 per person and offer the same hours and amenities as our standard overnight. Guided Tour not included.
Non-exclusive overnights will be limited to a maximum of 16 people. Private accommodations with private bedroom and full bath will be available late spring 2023.

4️⃣Public investigations are conducted with our partnered companies. If you want to host a public event it must be approved. If you’re caught selling tickets to a private investigation you may lose your day and deposit.

5️⃣Other
Several nights per year the Indiana State Sanatorium have guests on site unrelated to paranormal investigations. These guests may be attending a local festival, wedding or other events at our nearby properties. On these nights, the site is still available for paranormal investigations. Access to the main buildings is still exclusive except the common room which may be unavailable. Other people will be about on campus, but will not be inside the main buildings. The discounted price for these nights is $500 (weekdays) and $700 (weekends).
6️⃣Accommodations
Overnight sleeping accommodations are also available if you are visiting the site with one of our public partners. From our clean and simple sleeping rooms without private bath to a full suite with multiple beds, breakfast and private bath, many options are available. Suites available late Spring 2023

Sidna Allen House, Fancy Gap, VA. 📸

This house was built in 1911 for Sidna Allen, which was the brother of Floyd Allen; however, he was soon arrested thereafter for complicity in the courthouse shooting of which his brother was accused, and never again lived in the home.

Floyd Allens home is located in Surry County, NC.
