I thought it might be fun to start sharing some of my favorite wedding venues.

Not because they’re the fanciest or the most expensive, but because they create the kind of weekends people talk about for years.

If I had to choose just one, I’d be back at NatureBridge in a heartbeat.

It sits along the shores of Lake Crescent in Olympic National Park, the whole place feels like summer camp, in the very best way.

Everyone stays for the weekend.

The morning of the wedding, I found myself sitting on the dock with a cup of coffee, watching the sun rise over the lake. Later, everyone - from the wedding party to the guests (myself included) - lined up through the buffet to make sack lunches before heading out to paddleboard, canoe, swim, hike, or simply explore. I watched kids “fish” for hours with nothing more than sticks, string, and their imaginations.

By the time the ceremony began, it didn’t feel like guests showing up for a wedding.

It felt like a community.

The guests were handed a single flower. As Brian and then Erin made their way into the ceremony, they collected blooms from the people they love before placing the bouquet into a vase together. I’d never seen anything like it, and it was such a beautiful way to include everyone before a single vow was spoken.

And then… because Erin and Brian are Erin and Brian… they entered their reception in inflatable dinosaur costumes, performed a fully committed dance number (no one knew it was them 😂), and surprised everyone with a drag show.

Heartfelt.
Hilarious.
Completely unforgettable.

Twenty slides isn’t nearly enough to tell the story of a weekend like this.

Because the best part of this place isn’t something you can fit into a carousel. I’d have to make a series to share all my favorite photos.

It’s really about the feeling of it though.

Coffee on the dock.
The quiet mornings with your feet in the water.
The laughter.
The freedom to simply play and be together.

If you’re dreaming of a wedding weekend instead of just a wedding day, NatureBridge deserves a spot on your list.

And as for me… I’m crossing my fingers and my toes that one day I get to come back and do it all over again. 🤍

While I was flying into Los Angeles, I journaled as if I was already flying home.

I wrote about how grateful I was. How much I laughed, danced, and played over the weekend. How held I felt by community. How nourished, replenished, and inspired I felt.

Every bit of it came true. Plus some.

I literally got to do breathwork in the middle of this shoot. I got to witness someone so deeply in their element, create beautiful imagery, and spend the weekend in a way that felt soft, easeful, and deeply aligned.

The whole trip felt like an exhale.

Thank you for trusting me to capture this moment for you, . And thank you, Ashley Dancyger, for welcoming us into your beautiful home and for your willingness to fully drop into the session while I tiptoed around, with my cameras.

In 2018, I photographed Jenny Dare and Sean’s wedding.

Tonight, I’m sleeping in their pool house, listening to the quiet and feeling really grateful.

This job has taken me so many places, but one of the best parts is getting to witness life after the wedding day.

Years later, I get to sit by the pool, watch their children grow, and be reminded that some clients become friends.

I never take that for granted.

I feel like the luckiest one.

Thanks for hosting me guys 😘 Jenny Dare Paulin & Sean Inoue
