⚔️To find your love in every lifetime⚔️
What a gift, to be loved. To be held by someone who wants to deeply understand you, seeks clarity in conflict, offers softness, and lets you grow freely. What a gift, to rest in the arms of someone who reaches for you and lifts you up with them.

This cake is very special to me. It came through as a request for a tasting box followed by a request for a cancellation- the couple were traveling from out of town and couldn’t make pick up. I was, in that moment, too broke to let go of the sale, so I offered to deliver it to their hotel room. A few rounds of phone tag, no wedding date, and no idea what they even wanted from their cake beyond a flavor profile, I let it go as a missed opportunity.
And just before the wedding they reached back out, and rather than make everyone jump through more hoops I collected as much information as I could to put together numbers. And we had a problem- I had a tattoo booked on their wedding date, and two other weddings that weekend. But I quoted anyway, knowing how challenging that would make the two weeks around it. I still said yes, they accepted the quote, and I am so grateful for that decision.
This couple was very clear about the details of their cake that mattered, a hexagon, dark piping up one corner of the cake, white florals. I asked if they had any specifics in kind for the style of piping, and they left that up to me. At the time that I took the order- I’d imagined something more ornamental, or geometric. Maybe art deco inspired.
But sitting at the table to begin finishing the cake, after hours and hours of painstakingly building and masking to get the base shapes- I realized I was running out of time. I was tired. I had a vague plan and no template cut. But I also had freedom.
In that moment, I made a really important decision. I decided to trust myself as an artist. To trust my own aesthetic, and to create a piece that I loved. That referenced my own work. That leaned on techniques I am deeply familiar with, and to create from my heart.
It is one of my favorite pieces ever.
