I’ve been working on something a little special for my website. 🤍

Over the years, I’ve been incredibly lucky to photograph so many families, growing bellies, brand-new babies, seniors, weddings, and all of those little moments in between.

I recently created a page on my website dedicated entirely to the words my clients have shared about their experiences with me—and reading through them while putting it together has meant more to me than I can say.

Of course I want you to love your photographs, but hearing that I made you feel comfortable, beautiful, cared for, or simply able to be yourself in front of my camera means just as much to me. These words truly mean the world to me.

A little look at how I create a wedding album from beginning to end. 🤍
When you choose one of my wedding collections that includes an album, this is the care that goes into creating it. I don’t simply place photographs onto pages—I thoughtfully design every spread so your album flows naturally and tells the complete story of your day.
For a 10x10 album, I ask each couple to choose 30 favorite photographs. That does not mean the finished album will contain only 30 images. Their choices show me which photographs, people, and moments mean the most to them—and ensure that every one of their must-haves is included.
From there, I take over. I add the details, family photographs, emotions, and little in-between moments needed to bring the entire day together. They choose the heart of their story, and I carefully build everything else around it.
Once the design is complete, my couples can choose the cover that feels most like them. Linen is available, but I’ll admit that I will always lean toward leather for a wedding album. It feels classic and timeless, gives the album that true heirloom quality, and will hold up beautifully through years of being opened, loved, and eventually passed down.
This is a look inside one of my finished wedding albums that has already made its way into my couple’s hands. Digital galleries are wonderful, but there is something irreplaceable about sitting together, turning the pages, and holding your wedding story in your hands. 🤍

I photographed these images five years ago, but looking at it now, I realize it holds so much more than the beautiful moment you see.
I was 42 years old, nine months pregnant, and just seven days away from giving birth to Hank. It was August in Florida, the heat index felt like 105°, and I had no idea exactly when he would arrive.
My pregnancy had been filled with uncertainty. I lost my insurance three months into it, and after getting new coverage, I struggled to find a doctor who would accept me so far along. It was a nightmare, and although I had already given birth to three children and trusted that I knew my body, there was still fear beneath that trust.
But that evening, I stood behind my camera and photographed the tenderness between another mother and her little boy. Maybe because I was so close to giving birth myself—full of hormones, emotion, instinct, and anticipation—I felt their connection a little more deeply. The entire gallery became one of my favorites, and five years later, it still is.
This photograph has become a doorway back to the woman I was that evening.
She was carrying uncertainty, exhaustion, fear, and a whole baby—and she was still creating something tender for another mother. Seven days later, Hank arrived perfectly healthy. I know that now, but the woman standing behind the camera that evening didn’t.
For years, I only saw the mother and child in this photograph. Looking at it today, I finally see the woman behind the camera too.
And she was stronger than she realized. 🤍

This family right here… I just adore them. 🤍
This morning’s session was to celebrate their oldest little girl turning four, but it was also another little chapter in their family’s story that I feel so lucky to preserve.
Watching these girls grow, seeing the sweetness between them, and capturing the way their mama loves them is such a gift. Some families begin as clients and become people you truly look forward to seeing—and I’m so thankful they continue to trust me with these seasons of their lives.
Happy fourth birthday, sweet girl. You are so very loved, and four looks pretty adorable on you. 🤍

A little wedding-day advice: when choosing your photographer, don’t only look at the photographs taken during a perfect golden sunset.
Wedding days don’t wait for perfect light. There may be rain, harsh midday sun, clouds rolling in, dark indoor spaces, and lighting that changes from one moment to the next. Your photographer needs to know how to work with all of it—because you only get one wedding day.
Yesterday’s engagement session at Jekyll Island gave us bright sun, wind, and constantly changing skies. It was also the perfect opportunity for us to spend time together before their wedding.
That is one of the reasons I believe engagement sessions are so important. You become comfortable with me and my camera, and I learn how you naturally interact, what makes you laugh, and how to bring out the connection between you.
Let’s face it—I’ll likely spend more time beside you on your wedding day than almost anyone else. You should know me, trust me, and feel completely comfortable with me before that day arrives. 🤍
A beautiful sunset is a gift. Experience in every kind of light is essential.

Sometimes the most beautiful moments happen when things don’t go as planned. We got caught in the rain during this maternity session, and I’m so glad she embraced it—because we captured this. 🤍
More to come, but it’s thundering again, so I should probably get off the computer!

I’m updating my Instagram and wanted to create a carousel introducing myself. I thought I’d include a family photo…

Then I started looking.

This is the only one I could find.

The last time we had professional family photos taken, my daughter was five.

She’s fourteen now.

Funny, isn’t it? Even photographers forget to step in front of the camera.

We tell ourselves we’ll do it next season. When life slows down. When everyone is older. When the timing is better.

But life doesn’t wait.

Looking at this photo, I don’t see perfection. I see my family exactly as they were in that moment, and I’m so thankful I have it.

Maybe that’s why I believe so deeply in what I do.

Don’t wait for the perfect time.

Twelve years ago today… ❤️

This memory popped up this morning, and I couldn’t help but smile.

Tomorrow was going to be my very first wedding, and I was terrified. I remember telling myself, “I will capture great moments. I am an artist and will make great work.” I needed to believe it before I could see it.

The truth is, I didn’t keep photographing weddings after that.

I did a couple and realized I wasn’t where I wanted to be. I didn’t feel comfortable charging someone or being responsible for one of the biggest days of their lives when I knew I still had so much to learn.

So I stepped back.

Not because I gave up…
Because I wanted to become better.

I kept practicing. I photographed families, babies, maternity sessions—anything that helped me grow. I studied light, emotion, posing, editing, and storytelling. I made mistakes. I learned from every single one.

Then, about six years ago, something happened that changed everything.

A bride asked me to photograph her wedding at Cottonwood Ranch. She could have chosen anyone, but she chose me. I didn’t even have wedding pricing figured out yet! 😂

She believed in me.

That trust gave me the confidence to step back into weddings, and I’ve never looked back.

Today, I’m no longer nervous. I walk into a wedding excited instead of scared because I know I’ve put in the work.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this:

You’re never too old to chase a dream.

I was 35 when I started this journey.
I’m 47 now.

Dreams don’t happen overnight. They happen after countless hours of practicing, learning, failing, growing, and refusing to quit.

And one more thing…

Don’t rush to charge for something just because you can.

Practice until you’re proud of your work. Learn your craft. Respect the responsibility that comes with serving people well.

Your confidence won’t come from pretending you know everything.

It comes from putting in the work until one day you look back and realize… you’re no longer the person who wrote that nervous Facebook post twelve years ago.

And for that girl who asked everyone for prayers…

I’m really proud of her. 🤍
