Lago di Resia blew my mind…
Also known as Reschensee in German, this man made water body is the biggest lake in the Alps above 1000 meters and sits just a few kilometers from both Switzerland and Austria.
I’m really glad that when they were creating the lake and the dam for hydroelectric power in 1950, they decided to keep the steeple of the 14th century church that once stood there. Not only it is very picturesque, but when the water freezes in the winter, one can walk next to it…
