It’s my birthday!!
Forty-two years of living, learning, traveling, and growing… and here’s what I know for sure:
1. Keeping God first changes everything.
Every season — the joyful, the heavy, the stretching — makes more sense when I hand it back to Him. My peace comes from knowing I don’t walk alone.
2. People matter more than anything.
My husband, my kids, my family, and the clients who become friends — they’re the heartbeat of everything I do.
3. Travel makes the world feel bigger — and me braver.
Seeing the world has shown me how vast and beautiful life truly is. It reminds me to dream bigger and not sweat the small things.
4. The small moments end up being the big ones.
Sunsets, road trips, good food, laughter in the studio, the way someone’s eyes light up when they see a photo that feels like them — that’s the magic.
5. Reinvention is possible at any age.
Leaving nursing, building a business, choosing courage over comfort — every chapter has taught me there’s always room to grow and begin again.
6. Your body is the scorekeeper.
Rest, nourishment, slowing down when you’re depleted — it all matters. Take care of the body that carries you through your dreams.
7. Boundaries protect your peace.
Not everything or everyone deserves unlimited access. Peace is worth guarding.
8. Gratitude changes the way you see the world.
The more I look for the good, the more I realize how much I already have — and I’ve learned that comparison is the thief of joy.
9. Kindness goes further than we think.
A soft heart isn’t weakness — it’s strength in its gentlest form.
10. Time is the most valuable thing we have.
Spend it wisely. Spend it intentionally. Spend it on people who feel like home.
11. Life isn’t about perfection — it’s about presence.
The imperfect, unplanned moments are the ones we end up holding onto the longest.
12. Living these truths has taught me to savor every story I get to capture.
Every session reminds me how fast life moves and how beautiful a single ordinary moment can be.
These 12 truths are the lens I’m choosing to look through — in life and in my work. They help me savor the stories I get to capture and the people I get to walk beside. 🤎
