For those of you who have lost someone special, do you remember what it felt like to be around them? For me, being around my Papaw felt like taking a walk down a gravel road on a cool summer night. It was awe like watching lightning bugs at dusk. It was sweet like eating homemade strawberry ice cream on the front porch. It was warm like soaking in the last rays of a brilliant sunset. It was pure joy like running through freshly washed laundry drying on the clothesline while the summer breeze swirled the scent of cotton around me.

Don't you just hate it when you have a cake smash session and the parents mess up big time and bring a professional baby model instead of the birthday boy?

Yeah, me neither! Atlas is such a dreamboat baby. This session was such a joy and so surreal after having done his parents' maternity session last spring, his newborn session last summer, and their first family session this past autumn. I've loved watching this little angel grow into such a handsome little lad! I'm already tearing up thinking about his Senior portraits in 17 years 😭...
