Now thats it's hot I've got the film developed from when it was cold to look through.
The first roll came out a complete bust, all blank. The second roll had 11 frames. But by the fourth roll I got the full roll of exposures and most of them are in focus.
Getting back into film photography and with a camera I'm not as familiar with I expected a mess. Each shot and every roll I learn something. Something to consider the next time I load up a roll and put the viewfinder to my eye.
I also find I can't attach myself to an expected outcome; there will be light leaks, motion blur, and a lot of unforseeable inevitabilities that are out of my control.
These are a few of my favorite outtakes that might even have more weight than the ones I choose to print.
It can be easy to fall into the stream of AI generated images and design. The quick fix for "perfect" results. Maybe we should stop trying to be deceptive with an appearance of perfection.
A memory doesn't come back to you in full focus.
Real life is messy.
To be a human is to be imperfect; it's so much more appealing to be authentic.
It might take risk, time, and effort to create something of your own mind, body, spirit but it's worth the legitmate connection.
