I just received notification that one of my photos, "February Reflection," was accepted for the gallery show for the Shrode Photography Competition at the Cedarhurst Center for the Arts. This is the premiere photography competition in southern Illinois with many of the best photographers in southern Illinois participating. Awards will be announced at a reception on October 3rd. I am honored to be in the company of other outstanding photographers such as Suzanne Asaturian, Kris Killman, Paul Kray, Shelly Volkert, and Jeffrey Wetherill. The gallery show will run from October 4th through January 10th.

I post these as a tribute to Dolly Parton, a remarkable talent and a true humanitarian. RIP, Dolly!

At about 2:30am our ring went off because a deer was walking across our driveway. When we got up this morning we discovered this beautiful little fawn laying in the grass. I could see the mom across the road in the shadows.
