I love behind-the-scenes pics. They are a fun reminder of the shoot, but also show how simple you can keep it. I am a minimalist photographer, which tends to make some clients uneasy at times, but I believe if you take your time and put care into each shot you can create spectacular images without needing to drag a ton of equipment along. I took these for my son and his awesome fiance a couple of weeks ago on the Salt Flats in Utah. The wedding is a week from today and we couldn't be more excited for them.

There is no denying that the pure beauty of Angie ( ) catches your eye and holds your gaze. It is not a fault to be initially captured by attraction to outward appearance, but the true power of someone is what you find when you get to meet who is behind that introduction.
Angie's kindness is greater than her beauty.
Angie's intellect is greater than her beauty.
Angie's empathy is greater than her beauty.
Angie's sense of humor is greater than her beauty.
Angie's love of dogs is greater than her beauty.
I live in gratitude every day that she has chosen to share her life with me.

I have seen this truth in almost everyone I photograph. It is a model's appearance and confidence that first attracts my attention based on the genre of shoot I am creating, but then I get to meet who is truly behind the photograph. I have found some of the most genuine and sweet people, some who have become life long friends. It is those individuals who we must remember are creating that exhibition. Yes, it may be an exciting and sexy photo, and you will undoubtedly find a strong attraction to them, but please comment in a way that is respectful. Using the human body as an expression of art is not ever an invitation for you to behave poorly.

Of course this is usually a guy problem, so I'll focus on that... Dude, unless she specifically requests in writing that she wants to hear what you want to do to her or to see any part of you, then NEVER do it. She did not post the photo for you. This shouldn't be too difficult to understand. Give positive and supportive feedback like you would if you were actually face to face in front of her friends. (No, not in front of your friends. You alone in front of her friends where you aren't trying to play the part of the big man) Admiration and respect go hand in hand, and if you can practice it then it will be returned. You may actually get to know some truly beautiful people.

I hope my art will always provide a glimpse into the human being behind the pose.

I like to shoot bright and happy things, but every once in a while I need to go dark to tell the ugly truths of our society, in a hope to create some change. Please scroll through all of the images even though they may be difficult to look at.

Somehow misogyny is still alive. Religions and politicians live off of it, and it seems to have made a strong resurgence lately. This will only end with all of us calling it out wherever we see it, especially men calling out other men.

A woman doesn't belong to anyone. Her sexuality is shared how and when she wants to. Nudity may empower some, modesty may empower others; it isn't for anyone else to decide for another. Either way, how a woman expresses herself or dresses is not an invitation for dominating behavior from men. Of course there can be a strong sexual attraction towards her, that is completely natural, but all because you feel something doesn't mean it's okay to act.
When is it ok for a man to make a sexual advance towards a woman?
Simple, only when she is completely able to make a clear and sober decision...followed by a clear "yes".

Within marriage, a woman is in no way a subservient partner. The disgusting term "head-of-household" should be removed from our vocabulary. No partner matters more than the other, and a wife is not a piece of property.

I encourage all women to own your power and to never accept or excuse inappropriate behavior, even though it may seem like that's how all men are. You deserve better and you are worth it.
