The Redwoods brought awe and wonder with much respect. I couldn’t help but think what the world was like when these giants were saplings and then think about the respect we should have for them!

Winter in Yellowstone is different.

The noise fades, the land slows down, and what’s left is space — space to notice the curves of a river, the muted colors of winter grass, the crisp air, and the way snow settles into the mountains.

These are a few of those quiet moments that stays with you.

Yosemite has a way of shifting the atmosphere quickly.

These images were captured from Tunnel View as a rainstorm approached the valley — clouds thickening, light fading, and the granite walls of El Capitan and Half Dome slowly settling into shadow.

What drew me in wasn’t the drama, but the quiet transition as the storm arrived and the valley softened.

These photographs are available as museum-quality fine art prints.

Jan. One...Happy New Year all!

At the start of each year, I spend time reviewing my images and asking why certain ones stay with me.

Some make the cut some a lot don't, but today these four stood out.

A bald eagle photographed at Reelfoot Lake in west Tennessee — simple, powerful, and still.
A horse standing quietly in a rare February Tennessee snow near home.
A young tree growing among the massive California redwoods, just beginning to come into its own.
And water caught in a spider’s web on the bark of a towering redwood — something about the small, surviving among giants.

What draws me to these images is their strength and simplicity. They don’t shout — they invite you to look closer.

These photographs are available as museum-quality fine art prints.

I have been busy with a new venture the past 18 months, with a rebranding of sorts to Landscape and Wildlife Photography. I will still be photographing sports but I have had a passion for Nature Photography for a while. You will see the change in my webpage and I have included e-commerce to accommodate those of you who would like to purchase this type of images.
To kick off the new project here is one of my Landscape photographs.

October in Grand Teton National Park has a stillness that’s hard to describe.
This image was captured along the Snake River at 4:30 a.m., with temperatures around 28 degrees and a thin layer of high clouds catching the first light on the Tetons. Moments like this are brief — quiet, cold, and unforgettable.
This photograph is available as a museum-quality fine art print in framed, metal, and canvas options.
