Before August comes to an end and September begins, I want to post this very special session I had the pleasure of capturing. For those who don't know, September is childhood cancer awareness month. With this sweet girls mothers permission, I'd love to share her story and spread awareness, as well as shed some light🤍
This is Ava, In April 2024, Ava was just 15 months old when she suddenly stopped walking. Her parents spent weeks searching for answers, visiting doctors, urgent care, and the ER before her pediatrician finally ordered a blood test. Within hours, their world changed—Ava was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia, high-risk B-type. Ava battled through 28 long months of treatment including intense chemotherapy, spinal chemotherapy, bone marrow biopsies, blood transfusions, and multiple hospital stays. Through it all, she remained a happy, strong, and lovable little girl. On August 7, 2026, Ava completed her treatment and finally got to ring the bell. She celebrated with a royal princess ball surrounded by so much love from family & friends. Now at 3 years old, Ava is finally getting to enjoy some normalcy in her life including going to ballet class and attending preschool.
As a mother myself, stories like this always hit so close to my heart. The courage and strength that Ava has being so young, battling childhood cancer, amazes me!
I pray that one day children won't have to battle cancer , that they can just be children. So happy for Ava and her family that through it all she WON! May God always watch over her and her beautiful family🙏🏽
