Yesterday I had to get out of the house, the day started off with bad news and I could not sit around wallowing in pity so i had to get out of the house. I went out for a good drive to clear my head of the cobwebs and happened to end up at the right place at the right time as i came across a couple Mountain Goats standing by the road that were willing to let me get several shots of them. This time of year they look very rough as they start shedding out the long winter wool that kept them warm through the winter but also manages to catch every burr they encounter.

I was able to get out and witness the splendor of the Solar Storm last Friday Night and the Auroras that it created. The Auroras were on a scale that was to hard to take in as you were not able to see all of it at one time as the lights were all around. I took a total of 602 Photos that night and am working at turning those shots into a Timelapse Video, so please keep watch for that to be posted in the coming days

Last Weekend I made the trip down to Bozeman to capture a few shots of Waterfalls in the beautiful Hyalite Canyon, I did not make it as far as I was hoping to get to capture some amazing Waterfalls, at 49 I am just not in shape as I was when I was in my 20's and hiked these trails many times. I had to settle for Grotto and Palisade Falls for this trip, I will be back hopefully in a much fitter shape and make the trip up to some of the other 9 falls on this trail. I was trying my luck at doing some Stacked Panoramic Shots but was not as successful in getting them all to turn out just right. I have included the Grotto Falls shot for the fun of it, as that one just did not turn out the way I was trying to capture it.

Last night we had a brief but very intense display of the Aurora Borealis, aka Northern Lights here in Helena Mt. While most of the data pointed to a much larger display possible last night, I was happy just getting a chance to see this one. Our sun goes through cycles and we just recently came out of the solar minimum, the lowest amount of sun spots and other solar activity, and are now going into a very active solar maximum, these cycles last about 11 years and as the solar maximums ramp up so to does the size and scale of the Aurora

I know it has been an while since my last post on here, with the way things were last couple of years I did not get out as much, and when I did get out I was not happy with the way things turned out on my Photography so I did not post any of it here. however tonight I wanted to get out of the house for a little bit this evening so My Son and I took a little drive. I was looking for and hoping to see som wildlife as we were out and about. We didn't have any luck seeing anything out and about in the evening air but I did get into some Beargrass in bloom and got some wonderful shots in.
