CAMERA: When looking for the northern lights Sunday night use your camera's night mode to help see the colors.

TIME: Look north well after sunset (it doesn't get dark enough this time of year until after
10:00 pm)

LOCATION: Be in a place away from city lights. Light pollution can minimize the brightness of the lights.

Kaylee totally nailed her senior portrait session! She’s all about her family, her dogs, and helping people—which makes sense since she’s on her way to earning a nursing degree next year (she’s already got the “fixing everyone’s problems” thing down). Her favorite quote is by Michael Jordan: “limits, like fears, are often just an illusion”.

I am way behind on sharing photos from my sessions this summer! Which is not necessarily a bad thing…it means I’ve been busy with my boys and my sessions and not on social media! So I apologize now for the barrage of posts you’ll see over the next couple weeks!

I was honored when Shelby’s mom asked me to photograph her senior portraits. I’ve known her and her family for many years! She has grown into a beautiful young woman.

I always struggle with picking my favorites from my sessions. Hailey's is no exception, however, I can say that I think hers is one of the few that I have not included black and white images because her personality did not allow for it! She had such a bubbly and vibrant personality and while I tend to love the classic feel of B&W, I felt they would not do her justice!
