Yesterday, I drove past the Abel de Luna Community Center of Healdsburg. The vibrant colors of the buildings got my attention. So I parked and walked in to see what was happening. One event was a food pick up. The other event was muralist Jake Messing working on his mural, with the help of kids, including his daughter, and an adult.

TIS THE SEASON! I visited Grandma (Jenny) at Grandma's Pumpkin Patch at the north end of Healdsburg. What a delight. She is ready for Pumpkin Season. As is her tradition, she gives free handmade little Halloween aprons to the wee ones - one year olds, or kids who are experiencing their first Pumpkin Patch.

The 40th Annual Russian River Watershed Cleanup happened yesterday at locations from Ukiah to the coast. The group of volunteers that met at Healdsburg Veterans Memorial Beach fanned out to several locations, including Badger Park, Kinley Drive, and Riverfront Regional Park. Vickie and I did an overnight trip to Fort Bragg last Tuesday. We walked the trails of the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens, especially the Dahlia Garden, and the coastal trails. We also drove north to Westport, home to the smallest US Post Office and library, and the Gray Whale, a private art creation.
