Sometimes the best photos are the ones you never planned.

We were out kayaking with friends on a misty Mendocino morning, and of course... I had my camera with me. 😂 Not exactly the most convenient thing to bring on the river, but moments like this make it worth it.

As he pulled his kayak onto shore, the fog, the light, and the smile all came together for a split second.

One of my favorite parts of photography is looking for a perspective that not everyone sees.

While we were walking the vineyards at Lerner Project, I noticed this little opening in the canopy framing Mount Saint Helena in the distance. I had to stop and capture it.
These are the images I love making. Not just the obvious vineyard shot, but the ones that tell you what it feels like to stand there.

I absolutely love working with brands like Lerner Project that have such a strong sense of place. Every property has its own story, and it's always an honor to help tell it.

One of my favorite parts of photography is working with people who genuinely love what they do.

This was from a tennis and wine gathering with Darling Wines, and it was such a fun event to document. Great wine, great people, and a brand that's building community around every bottle.

Not every photograph needs to tell the whole story.
Sometimes it's the details that say the most.
The worn leather.
The braided reins.
The strength and beauty of a horse.
The quiet anticipation before guests gather around the table.
One of my favorite moments while photographing an Outstanding in the Field dinner on a California cattle ranch.
Photography is about noticing.

Sometimes the story is quieter. A pair of bottles waiting to be opened. A well-loved chair.

Summer evenings have a rhythm all their own. The sun hangs a little lower. The air is hot. A caller temp bottle is opened. A gorgeous glass is poured.

And suddenly, there's nowhere else you'd rather be.

Here's to long evenings, good company, and a beautiful glass of Carignan.

I love the little details.

The flowers carefully placed on the table.

The way the afternoon light catches the glass.

The vineyard quietly waiting beyond the guests.

Beautiful events aren't remembered because of one grand moment. They're remembered because of hundreds of thoughtful ones.
