Hey guys!
I have a bit of an announcement.
2025 was the busiest year of my life, with a camera in my hand and without. I am over the moon and so thankful for every moment of it all. I got to be there to welcome babies into the world, I got to showcase so many different personalities in senior photos, I got to meet so many incredible families while we laughed and ran through fields together. There were bittersweet moments, such as photographing my big LCHS group one last time for Homecoming, as they’re seniors this year and moving on to the next big thing! There were moments that I had a hard time fighting back happy tears, knowing that with each snap of my shutter I was cementing a once in a lifetime moment for people I care deeply about. I got to hit that button the second a friend from way back in high school got to say “I do” to her best friend. I’ve watched families grow, been part of announcements, and watched goals set in motion finally reached.
Away from the camera I had to say “see you later!” to my oldest son as he left our home and started college. I took the leap and started homeschooling my daughters, and I have big plans for our little homestead. 2025 had incredible highs, and traumatic lows. This year really put a lot into perspective for me, and something I came out of this year feeling deeply is that time moves way too quickly for my liking.
My announcement is this: I am still here, but I will be taking a major step back from photography for a time. Please don’t count me out right away, I can’t properly put to words how much it means to me when I get to come back a year later to do family photos, or when I get the call that a new baby is on the way and birth photography is needed in no time. I am eternally thankful for everyone who has supported and believed in me from the start, for the people that I have met along the way, and for being included in some of the most important moments in your lives. I have big plans on the horizon, I still have such a passion for what I get to do here. My books are still open, they’re just more limited moving forward. I felt that it was time for this conversation to be had, especially since I have been so quiet on my socials.
In the end, I’m still here. Things will look just a little different for a little while.

Baby Brown’s birth story is amazing, beautiful, and empowering. However, I’ll leave that for Mama to share.
Sydney showed me a strength I have personally never known. Watching her fearlessly bring her baby girl into this world blew my mind. I stood there watching as her husband Mason cared for their oldest daughter, massaged her feet, and quickly jumped into action to relieve any back pressure when those contractions hit. The way he looked at her with devote love and admiration would floor anyone out there. I watched as her best friend Jenny took care of any task before Sydney even knew it needed done, documented special moments, made sure everyone was hydrated and fed. I watched as Big Sister supported her mom and eagerly awaited the birth of her newest sibling, as she was the one who got to announce the gender.
Again, I’m in complete awe and I play this day over and over in my head. Being in that room, pausing these special moments in time, was a profound honor.

There are people out there who radiate just as much light and warmth as golden hour, and Sydney is one of them. She had me laughing and smiling behind the camera until my cheeks hurt. Everything from her, the location, the lighting, was perfect! Throughout her senior session we chatted about her plans for her future, and guys, she’s out there making moves and doing big things! Move mountains, girl!

There’s one thing that I’ll never tire of, and it’s seeing two people totally in love watching the family they created run around, living their best lives. Those smiles are priceless. The Galliher family couldn’t have been any sweeter, I had the best time ever capturing these moments for them 🤍
I cherish these days where I get to chase sunsets with the kindest people, thank you again Alex and Dyton!

One thing about me is when you ask me to do something spooky I’m getting in the car immediately. I had a blast with Maggie and the fam, capturing their family photos in the best way ☺️ These spooky ghouls bring so much laughter to everything they do, my sides were aching by the time we got back to the car. When you get a causal snapchat while you’re out of town camping that baby is coming a little early… my goodness! Baby Makiah was eager to meet his family. It was just a little over a year ago where I was standing in this same spot, with the same camera, photographing his big sister for the first time. I know you’ve seen me say this many times, and I’ve meant it from the bottom of my heart each time, I’m endlessly blessed and endlessly honored to be able to pause these moments in time for this beautiful family. I love you guys very much, congratulations mom and dad, and welcome Earthside sweet boy 🤍

Oh guys, I’ve been in happy tears for days. It seems like yesterday that Mike and Faith FaceTimed me to announce their pregnancy, shortly after their beautiful elopement. Not only were they announcing that they were pregnant, they floored me with the announcement of twins! The very first Rice twins! I ugly cried then, and I ugly cried yesterday watching those beautiful boys come into this world. Mike was the most attentive, supportive, loving husband and new dad. Faith was so incredibly strong, through this entire pregnancy and birth! I couldn’t be more proud of these two. The love between them was clearly visible to everyone in that room. The boys came out calm, quiet, and so alert. The second they were put in the same bassinet, skin to skin, I saw for the first time in my own life what twin connection truly is. They embraced each other and settled in, perfectly content, with Florence trying to feed off of Finnley’s perfect little nose. Welcome earth side, sweet boys 🤍

Sometimes in life you just happen to meet people that immediately mean the world to you. I’d say you’ve hit the jackpot when you find your soul sisters, and that’s exactly what these girls did. Find you a best friend who will be by your side through it all, someone who will frolic in the fields with you, and someone who will find the one hole in the path to fall into, haha. During my time working with the 4H families at our county fair over these last couple of years I learned so much, and developed such a respect for these kids. The hard work, love, dedication, and willingness to learn and grow is truly unmatched. This sweet little lady has poured her heart and soul into her lambs and it shows. It was a blast spending time with her, Puppy, and Bella. I can’t wait to see Anna show at the fair! You go girl 💕
