I got my first camera in 2014 when vlogging on YouTube was all the rage. I had convinced my parents to buy me a camera for my high school graduation, fully believing I was about to become the next YouTube sensation.
Twelve years later, I’m not a vlog star, but I did fall in love with the art of photography.
I grew up with a passion for musical theater. I performed in my first show in 5th grade and instantly fell in love with storytelling and with making an audience feel something. Over the last 20 years, I’ve had the opportunity to perform on many stages at both the community and regional (professional) levels. The one thing that has never changed is my love for telling a story.
That passion carries directly into my work as a photographer.
If you asked me, “If you could shoot one style for the rest of your life, what would it be?” I would tell you street photography. The reason is simple. It is all about the stories. All you have to do is sit, observe, and wait for life to unfold. That is where photography becomes beautiful. When you can take a moment, freeze it, and let the image tell the story long after it has passed.
It is also why I love working with families. No two sessions are ever the same, especially when little ones are involved. I enjoy letting the kids lead, embracing the chaos, and capturing the raw, genuine interactions that happen in between the posed moments.
Thank you for being here. I would love to connect and start telling your story next.
