There are some families that become so much more than just “clients” over the years, and Dorrie’s family has absolutely been that for me.
Watching Keith and Ella grow up year after year has honestly been one of the sweetest parts of this job. It’s wild how quickly kids change. One year they’re little, and before you know it, they’ve grown into entirely new versions of themselves with bigger personalities, bigger conversations, bigger interests, and little glimpses of who they’re becoming.
One thing I’ve always admired about Dorrie is that she’s never been focused on perfection. She doesn’t care about the fanciest location or perfectly posed moments. She simply wants to remember her family exactly as they are in this season of life the laughter, the chaos, the personalities of her kids, and all the little in between moments that matter most.
And honestly I think that’s what photography is really about.
That’s why I picked up a camera in the first place. I wanted to remember everything about my own kids while they were little because those seasons pass so quickly. Not just the “look at the camera and smile” moments, but the real ones too the expressions, the personalities, the things you don’t realize you’ll miss one day until suddenly years have passed.
The last couple of years have looked a little different for me, and I haven’t photographed as much as I once did. But sessions like this always remind me why I loved photography to begin with.
So thankful for clients like Dorrie and her sweet family who continue trusting me year after year with memories that mean so much. 🤍
