Pirate's Cove Billfish Tournament wrapped up the tournament season for me. This year was quite the transition moving from behind the camera and up to the bridge to run the Omni. I cannot thank captdalebritt and John Roberts on Weldor’s Ark enough for giving me that opportunity. I’m still honored that a legend like Capt Dale asked me to do it

The sportfishing world is competitive but it is a tight knit community full of people willing to help. Special thanks go to Captain Jeff Tyler Michael Tickle and Shane Brafford for always answering the call when I had questions. They were instrumental in getting me up to speed.

Also thanks goes out to David Walker on Jesus Freak for having me come up to run the Omni for Pirates Cove. It is one of my favorite tournaments that I have covered over the years and it was an honor to be part of it this year. I had a great time with some godly men. I was happy to put them on some fish. The wildest part was one of the guys bringing in some line that was wrapped around the dredge at the end of the day only to find a live sailfish at the other end.

I still was able to get behind the camera some but certainly loved every minute of this tournament season. I never thought 6 years ago when I was standing on the beach taking pictures that I would end up part of a team.

I’m already looking forward to next tournament season and will try to get south this winter to get some time behind the Omni.
