The 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀 project celebrates Hartford Black, Latinx and Indigenous historical changemakers as well as our own neighborhood stories and visions of shaping the history of Hartford through art and creativity.

This summer Hartford photographer 𝗝𝗮𝘀𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗝𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 led a documentary photography workshop as part of the program and encouraged participants to capture compelling, authentic moments at locations across the city. Select images from the participants will be included in this exhibit.

𝗝𝗮𝘀𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗝𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀, series instructor, is a photographer and filmmaker from . Her work focuses on daily life, overlooked moments and ignored communities. She is the founder and publisher of 𝘈𝘪𝘴𝘭𝘪𝘯 𝘔𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘦, an arts and culture magazine based in Hartford.

i made a short film almost 2 weeks ago with a team of other artists/filmmakers for the 48 hour film project which took place in new haven, ct this year.

our short “new to haven” premiered last saturday at the bijou theatre in bridgeport, ct. it’ll be showing again this friday in new haven at yale summer cabaret, as a part of their summer of love film festival.

anyone interested in attending can purchase tickets at summercabaret.org! the film festival starts at 7:30 but there will be music, local businesses, and food trucks in their cab garden from 5-8.
