MORNING | BEAUTY
There is such a brief season when fawns are this little, this spotted, and this wonderfully curious. I cherish every quiet glimpse I’m given into this fleeting moment of innocence.

FULL | OF | SUNSHINE
Golden light, island beauty, and a senior who radiates sunshine wherever she goes.

This session carried us to some of the island’s most beautiful locations, where the full summer sun wrapped every moment in warmth and light. Her joyful spirit, effortless grace, and luminous smile made each setting feel almost magical.

A beautiful chapter, captured in a place that feels just as radiant as she is. 🤍

What a wonderful day for the HISCFA 8th Annual Car Show on Harsens Island! We were blessed with spectacular weather, incredible participants, beautiful vehicles, and an amazing team of volunteers who helped make the event such a success.

As part of the planning committee, I had the privilege of helping organize the event and, on show day, capturing some of the memories through my camera lens. I didn't arrive until about 7:15 a.m., so I may have missed a few early arrivals, but I made every effort to include every vehicle and everyone who made the day so special.

Feel free to tag yourself, tag your friends, and share your favorite photos. Thank you to everyone who joined us—we can't wait to do it again next year!

FAWN | PORTRAITURE
The early morning light always has a little magic to it. I was lucky enough to capture a few tender moments with these twins while the dew still clung to the fresh green grass. They took a brief break from nibbling on the tiny white clover, giving me just enough time to preserve this sweet little moment... while one seemed perfectly content posing for the camera, the other looked as though it was practicing its morning yoga routine.

It's those quiet moments that make an early morning on the island so special.

ISLAND | BREAKFAST
The smoke lifted a little bit for the time being. Caught this sweet little fawn having her morning breakfast with Mom. Further down the road there were seven fawn together with multiple doe and bucks.

FUEL | UP
I was out doing a bit of shooting this morning and needed to fuel up with some 93 octane for my little cutie here. I grabbed a quick cell shot so pretty with the brilliant blue sky. Stay cool my friends! WC Beardslee

Here is a closer look at some of the culprits who have, once again, decided to nest, rest, and perch at the South Channel Lights.

Flocks of Forster's Terns and Herring Gulls have made themselves at home. They are fascinating to watch, but the smell leaves much to be desired. There were also a handful of Ring-Billed Gulls and Double-Crested Cormorants speckled throughout.

When you catch them in flight, their grace and beauty truly shine. Unfortunately, it's also painful to witness the damage they have caused to these historic range lights.

These images were captured with two different lenses while standing on the bow of a very bouncy bow rider. I will say, it is supremely easier to photograph from good old terra firma.

AZURE | VOYAGE
Captured during our recent "Boat Day," we were pleased to pass the M/T Algoterra, part of the Algoma Central Corporation fleet, gliding through the St. Clair River under a sky that seemed painted in brilliant shades of sapphire. The sparkling blue water mirrored the sky above, while towering white clouds completed a scene that was almost too beautiful to believe.

Photographed with an ultra-wide 16mm lens, this perspective emphasizes both the impressive scale of the Algoterra and the vastness of the sky surrounding her. It's a reminder that even these massive vessels seem small against the grandeur of the Great Lakes.

Some photographs are planned. Others are simply gifted by a perfect day.
