Adopted!!!!

I watched this girl as she was surrendered. 💔💔 She was sitting in the car waiting; she looked happy and content. She seemed to like car rides. Baby Girl had no idea what was to happen in a few short minutes. She walked inside confidently until she heard all the loud barking and realized something just wasn’t right. Baby Girl was obviously well cared for and loved. Her coat was clean and as white as fresh snow. Sadly, Baby Girl’s owner was very ill and could no longer care for her. In all my years of rescue, and with all I have seen, I am rarely impacted like this. I could literally see this regal dog shrink into herself with sadness. You see, she was adopted from a shelter 3 years ago. She must have understood with silent acceptance of what her fate was to be. She had been on my mind ever since. Yesterday, I saw her depressed behind her kennel door. She was silently begging me to take her outside to relieve herself and get some fresh air. She walked politely beside me. The photographer took her photos, and afterwards she melted with our touch. She craved attention and reassurance that we were rooting for her. We would be her voice and advocate for her. Baby Girl is 7 years old, spayed, housebroken; she was not crated but free in the home. Baby Girl is not a candidate for a home with cats. Though she gets along with most dogs, she requires a meet and greet. She would also need to be fed away from other dogs as she is not a fan of sharing her meals. She is larger in size, perhaps a Great Pyrenees mix. Baby Girl is such a lovely soul. It is heartbreaking to see this once confident dog so broken inside. Please consider giving Baby Girl the fresh start she is so desperate to have. Meet her; you will be glad you did. - Stacy Epperson.
