There is a kind of warmth that has nothing to do with candles or lights. It’s in the way a room sounds when everyone who loves you is there: the clinking glasses, the laughter between bites, and the way people lean toward each other at a round table just to hear one another over all the joy happening around them. Some weddings are a performance. Some weddings are a gathering. This was unmistakably the latter.

There is just so much fullness in these images. They are full of people who love them, full of light streaming through those trees, full of touches that are personal and completely theirs. This wasn’t a wedding that felt borrowed from a Pinterest board. It felt like them, and it was the perfect union of their families as well. And I think that’s the thing I’m always chasing: the weddings that are so full of meaning and intention that you can feel it in the photographs.

Sharing more from this maternity session because their sweet baby is over a month old now, how?!

2026 and 2027 will hold more spaces for maternity sessions, especially if they are like this. I often speak to my couples about how weddings photos for generations, and when I get to photograph a maternity session, it is such a sweet moment to see those generations forming. The wedding day is only the beginning; there are so many beautifully ordinary yet completely life-altering moments still to come that deserve to be remembered too.
