Capturing families in all season of their story is the absolute heart of my business. Every family is unique and beautiful in its own ways, and figuring out how to capture you authentically is always my goal.
I love how much can be communicated in a single image, especially when you know the people in the photo. When I look at this shot, I see the beauty of Katie and Luke’s marriage in their embrace, the steady love that is the foundation of their family. The kids running around them communicates the chaos of raising a young family, as well as the joy and playful spirit of the season and of childhood.
Having a family is a beautiful, challenging, joyful, painful, grounding and growing call in life. Not easy by any means, but so meaningful. Every day is the youngest you and your family will ever be, and moments never get to be lived twice. Capture the moments, even when the effort to do so seems like it will be too much. Even if all you can picture in your head is how impossible it feels to get everyone gathered, cleaned up and dressed and to a photo location. Even if the weather doesn’t cooperate, or any of the other things that make family photos hard.l do happen, trust me. It is worth it. I have never walked away from a session without capturing at least a few photos that my clients love.
I have never had anyone regret the effort. So mamas, dads, grandmas, grandpas, husbands, wives, daughters, sons… schedule the session. You will be so happy that you did!
