AI IMAGE TESTING: As a photographer, I've been testing various artificial intelligence image creation tools. Not to actually create original images but to assist with retouching and other improvements that would be difficult and/or extremely time consuming if done by hand in Photoshop.

The image below is actually a composite. The motorcycle is a shot I took at the Charlotte dealership. The street setting was generated using Adobe Firefly (using Google's Nano Banana engine). While the system did a satisfactory job creating the background, per my text prompt, it also re-rendered the motorcycle itself – which I had to remove and replace by hand.

Looking closely at the motorcycle AI rendered, there were myriad problems with it – not the least of which were the logos on the engine and brakes, which were unreadable.

This is my longest ever post, but I wanted to share my thoughts. Right now, AI image generation may be fun, but soon it will be impossible to tell what's real and what isn't.
