how we got these photos

1. shut off all of the background lighting to maximize contrast

2. ditch the flash!! use the ambient light coming from the fire to backlight our couple

3. focus on subtle moments inbetween poses and get. close.

4. embrace the grain!! pull warm tones in post with colorgrading & curves

i spent a little time stepping back and remembering that i don’t make art just for social media.

connecting with Kary | Cinematic Photographer this weekend was like a breath of fresh air. i got a chance to take a little stay-cation in my home state at kary’s retreat and i have never felt more recharged and ready to create. kary, i LOVE your brain. thank you for hosting this amazing project 🤍
