This is the kind of friendship that doesn’t need direction because it’s already there.

We spent the session walking around campus (a campus that, 20 years ago, I attended for a semester), hitting the field, laughing through half the prompts, and honestly… most of my job was just keeping up with them! The energy was effortless in the best way.

Also, did you know that sparkling cider can pop like champagne? Oh yeah, it can.

This is the part of senior year that hits a little different.

Not just “we’re graduating,” but “we did this, together.”

Sometimes, in the middle of a wedding day, while I’m doing my thing and everything is unfolding exactly how it should, my brain goes, “okay, but what if I could capture the behind-the-scenes chaos in real time?”

The champagne popping (which honestly makes me a little anxious but I'll conquer that anxiety for you!)
The dress fluffing, the veil settling.
The bridesmaid panicking “OMG MY EARRING LOST ITS BACK!” (Spoiler alert: I carry extra earring backs for this exact scenario).
The deep breath before you walk down the aisle as all that stress drains away from you before you see your soon to be spouse.

I AM BACK! 🖤✨

Last week? So cool.

Spring Break took us to New York City where we walked so much I’m convinced we casually knocked out a full marathon and a half marathon just by existing. My feet are still writing their memoir. PSA: only take the steps in the Statue of Liberty if you want seriously tight calves the next day. 🗽

Then we rolled straight into a really sweet Easter weekend with family, which felt like the coziest reset before diving back in today!

I am officially back to business as usual!

Since I started this business, I realized something very important: there are so many moments in this job that feel bigger than photography.

On Saturday, I had the honor of photographing a wedding for someone who knew me long before Ginger Snapshots® ever existed... back when I was just a teenager figuring out who I was going to become.

She watched me grow up. And now, she trusted me to capture one of the most important days of her life.

There is something incredibly special about being chosen by someone who has seen you at the beginning, and believed in you then, and still believes in who you have become now.

Annie and Kevin tied the knot surrounded by love and music at Level - A Small Plates Lounge.

Both of them are musicians, and instead of a traditional first dance… they did something I have yet to see in my 17+ years of photographing weddings.

They played a song they wrote together.

They asked everyone not to record. Not one person had a phone in their hand. This wasn't about the moment living on forever in digital media. It was about the moment itself, and every single person was present in that moment with them.

It was a moment shared quietly among the guests and the strings, like a glimpse into something that existed long before the wedding day and will live long after it.

Being the one to preserve this day, their love, is an honor I will carry with me for a long time.
