Why are all of my amazing, incredibly talented art teachers passing on me?

Dorian was my Lyndon State College art teacher, and inspired me in so many ways.

My portraits I paint in Black and White are how they are because of his talented ways of teaching. My marionette of my Star Trek Pig hangs about 3 feet away from me at my desk...he opened my mind to the creative world of thinking outside of the box.

He only had one cassette in his class room so he would play it over and over as we worked on our art... Whenever I hear A-ha now...he is on my mind.

The Huntington Beach 3rd Annual Roper Romp was pure joy in human form.

I showed up… and walked straight into a sea of red curls, bold prints, oversized sunglasses, and zero inhibitions. And I had an absolute blast.

There’s something magical about watching hundreds of people commit to the bit - fully, unapologetically, hilariously. It’s weird. It’s wonderful. It’s community in technicolor.

What a world we get to live in when we allow it to be outside the box. When we say yes to fun. Yes to playful. Yes to showing up a little louder than usual.

Huntington Beach Helens, you did not disappoint. ❤️✨
