Bump to Baby Spotlight!
I can't think of anything to say that's not cheesy, so grab the glass of wine and buckle up.
When I'm photographing families and I begin culling and editing, I notice all the microexpressions. I'm sure most photographers do. I can tell by the way one person is looking at another in that moment and gauge how they're feeling. It's pretty obvious. Now, some people (cough, dads) have looks that are begging for the session to be over with. But some couples look at each other with absolute adoration. This is one of those couples. I bore witness to it during their maternity session and again during their newborn session. And they look at their sweet baby with that same love.
Ok, lovey cheesy caption is done. I promise to keep them at a minimum. Maybe.

I don't get too many bookings that focus solely on anncouning pregnancy but this one was a lot of fun! The day was filled with thunderstorms that thankfully cleared by that evening and put on a gorgeous sunset for this beautiful couple. I'm excited for these parents to be!

This sweet family has been with me for a few years now.
I photographed their first Bump to Baby package. Then, when baby number two was on the way, I got to capture their announcement photos and their second Bump to Baby session too. They even let me practice posed photos with their sweet little guy.
I enjoy all my clients, but watching a family grow over the years — being trusted with these moments again and again — is one of the best parts of my job.

Some of the most important photos I take are ones I never get paid for.
My Preemie and Yours is an amazing program that supports families with infants in the NICU at MUSC's Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital. They provide so much more than a photo op — snacks and nurse appreciation gifts, necessity closets at MUSC and Roper Bon Secours, and real support for parents during one of the hardest seasons of their lives.

Extended family sessions at Morris Island on Folly Beach are always fun — but this one was extra special.
The sky decided to show off, and we even got to watch dolphins swimming by during the session. I didn't manage to catch any in the background of their photos like we'd hoped, but we still walked away with gorgeous photos of a family that lives in all corners of the US.
Getting everyone together in one place, on one beach, at the same time is no small feat — and it's exactly why I love what I do. 🤍

There's something really special about seeing the same family twice in one year—once while they're waiting for their baby, and again once they're finally here.

That's exactly why I love my Bump to Baby sessions.

Your maternity session captures all of the anticipation and excitement before your little one arrives. Then, a few weeks later, we meet again for your newborn session, documenting those tiny details that change so quickly and the love that's somehow already grown so big.

One of my favorite parts is seeing the story come full circle. By the time I walk through your front door for your newborn session, I'm not meeting strangers anymore—I'm seeing a family whose story I've already had the privilege of documenting.

Booking both sessions together also means one less thing to think about during a season when your to-do list already feels endless.

You see one photo — but I saw approximately 500 billion similar ones before picking the best to edit and deliver to you. 😅
This is from a model call, where I'm still learning to pose and photograph your precious babies. And honestly? Some of the angles are just weird. But that's okay — we learn through practice, and I did get it right... eventually.
