A little PSA for families with young children and toddlers 👉

Please don't stress about whether your little one will cooperate during your session — I've got you.

If they're shy, we slow down and let them warm up on their own terms. If they're bouncing off the walls, we lean into it — because the giggles, the chaos, and the in-between moments are exactly what makes your photos feel like YOUR family. Some of my favorite shots have come from a toddler who refused to sit still.

And yes, I do suggest you come prepared with mini marshmallows. 😂 They're clean, they're a crowd-pleaser, and a little bribery goes a very long way when you need someone tiny to look at the camera.

You don't need perfect kids for a perfect session — you just need to show up. I'll handle the rest. ♥️

This session at Morris Island Lighthouse absolutely took my breath away. 🤍

This glowing mama chose the most stunning backdrop for her maternity session — the soft sunset sky, the driftwood, and that iconic lighthouse in the distance made for a combination that felt almost too perfect to be real. Spoiler: it was very real, and I'm still pinching myself.

If you're expecting and on the fence about booking a maternity session — please do it. This season of life is so fleeting, and you deserve to have gorgeous images that capture exactly how beautiful and powerful you are right now. Your baby will grow up knowing just how loved they were before they even arrived.

A client asked me recently where my absolute favorite spot to shoot was — and I actually had to stop and think about it!
I have several favorites around Charleston, each special for different reasons. But when I really sat with it, one place kept rising to the top: Hampton Park.
Especially when things are in bloom, there is nowhere quite like it. You've got beautiful gardens, trails lined with oaks, and a walkway with trees draped in Spanish moss.
What I love most is the variety. One session at Hampton Park can give a family a full gallery of completely different backdrops — all within walking distance of each other, and all absolutely gorgeous. ✨
If you've never shot there, it's one of Charleston's best kept secrets. And if you have — you already know. 🤍

I post a lot of posed photos — but if I'm being honest, the candid moments are what I live for. 🤍
This little guy's face isn't even in the frame. But I don't need to see it to know exactly what expression he's wearing — because his parents' faces say it all.
Pure, elated, full-body joy as he runs straight into their arms. 🥹
This is why I do what I do. Not just to take pretty pictures — but to freeze a feeling. The kind of feeling that hits you all over again when you're flipping through photos ten years from now.

What actually happens after you book a session with me? I'm so glad you asked! 😊
We start by choosing a location together - I'll share some of my favorites around Charleston, but I love shooting somewhere that actually means something to your family. Your story, your place.
From there, I create a custom Pinterest board just for you — outfits, poses, inspiration — so we can get on the same page about the look and feel of your session before the big day.
I also have every family fill out a short questionnaire. The more I know about your personalities, your kids, and what you're dreaming of, the more intentional I can be when we're together.
Every detail is designed to make your session feel easy, personal, and completely yours. 🤍

Why did I become a newborn photographer? Honestly — I almost didn't. 😂
When I first started my photography journey, I said out loud: "I never want to work with newborns." Famous last words!
Over time, newborns and families slowly became my greatest passion. It actually makes perfect sense — I had always loved capturing maternity sessions, so of course I eventually wanted to photograph the tiny little person behind the bump. 🤍
The teeny tiny toes and the way a newborn fits so perfectly in your arms. As a mom of two, I know firsthand just how fast those first weeks disappear. My job is to make sure you never forget them.
That's what drives me every single session. 🤍
