Photographers and picture takers around the world, walk with us from wherever you are πŸ“Έ In one week, Sunday, October 25, my local Photographers and I will be walking Downtown Hampton, and I want you shooting right along with us. Here is what we will be photographing, so find your version of it near you. Boats at the marina, so look for a marina, a harbor, or any water with boats on it. A bridge that overlooks water and the beautiful architecture of a college campus, so find a bridge with a water view and buildings worth framing. And old town streets with restaurants and landmarks and that older feel, so wander your most historic street and shoot what has stood the test of time. Take your photos that same day and share them with me here so we can see the whole world through each other's eyes. We capture with intention and create with impact πŸ’–

Everything I am building started with one simple wish. I wanted other Photographers to talk to, people who understand the joy of it, the hard days, and that feeling when a photo finally comes together. That is why I pass on what I have learned along the way, the real lessons. And to the beginners, I want to help you start on a strong foundation, the kind that builds you up step by step into a solid Photographer someday. You do not have to figure this out alone. And something exciting is on the way, The Camera Collective membership is coming soon, a place for us to learn, grow, and shoot together. Pixentra HQ, my virtual Photography mentor, launches November 3 with a 7 day free trial and guidance on every photo you share. My first ebook, What Makes a Great Photograph?, launches that same day on Amazon Kindle for $9.99, and it will help Photographers because it breaks down what makes a photograph great in plain steps you can use on your very next shoot. Pull up a chair, there is room for you here πŸ’›πŸ“Έβœ¨

One day. That is all each of these blooms gets, and they still show up this bold.

This is a Mexican petunia, also called Ruellia simplex. Each purple flower lasts just one day, then a fresh one opens to take its place. I love that for Photography. Shoot what is in front of you today, because tomorrow the scene will already be new. πŸ“Έ ⭐ πŸͺ»

Photo News Radar πŸ“Έ

Fresh updates for Photographers and picture takers.

Tamron announces a brand new 16 to 50mm f/2.8 lens for APS C cameras today, and it is coming for Sony, Nikon, Fujifilm, and Canon. A fast everyday zoom like this is the lens most of us reach for every single day, so put this one on your watch list.

Panasonic just dropped a free firmware update for the Lumix S9 with new 4K video options. Free updates make the camera you already own better, so always check for them.

GoPro updated its MISSION 1 Pro cameras with continuous 50MP RAW photo shooting. Action cameras keep getting closer to real cameras, and picture takers get more ways to create.

This Week's Photo Tip for beginner Photographers is Simplify the Frame, straight from Chapter 8 of my ebook What Makes a Great Photograph? Too many elements in one photo divide focus and weaken impact, so before you press the shutter, name your one main subject, check all four corners, and remove anything that fights your subject by moving closer, stepping to the side, or waiting a breath. Simplicity is not emptiness, it is intentional selection, and it will make your photos, pictures, and images clearer the very next time you shoot. Save this carousel for your next photo walk and share it with a Photographer who is learning. What Makes a Great Photograph? by Kristen Seard-Singleton launches November 3 on Amazon Kindle for $9.99. Keep shooting, own the moment, and trust your eye πŸ’–
