When I first started photography, I remember my mentor telling me “photograph everything” and I did, religiously - and I still do.
What I do for “practice” preserves memories. Ones that last lifetimes.
My Dad took me and my daughter fishing this past week, and while I did cast a line, I’m more so captured moments.
It’s fun to get dressed up, meet at a fancy location, and smile for the camera
But the true joy in photography, for me at least, are the photos that tell a story.
A grandfather teaching his granddaughter to fish, and their efforts proving successful.
How lucky am I?
To be the one that captures sweet moments for families.
Values, traditions, lineage - it’s that deep.
And while this isn’t my typical posed and postured content, I feel these photos are just as important.
Photos hold moments.
And I just so happen to be lucky enough to capture the beautiful ones. Not for just my family - but also yours.
