Hey! It has been a hot minute, but I wanted to chime in and share a post that one of my best friends made for me. She's awesome! Check her page and the awesome stuff she does; as well as, look into her fund raisers that have been helping people in our area whom were affected by the hurricane.
Also, what are some shots of mine that you all would want to see? Some recent landscapes, music, etc.?
Good morning everyone! Today's shout out goes to Dustin Goff from The Scintillating Lens. Dustin has been a long term in person friend of mine, and one of my biggest supporters in life, with my page, and with my book. Everyone, a round of applause for Dustin!
1. What made you decide to pursue photography?
I've always had a draw to the medium. I loved playing with old cameras as a kid, and when I was financially able to, I decided to take the first steps in investing in the gear.
2. How long have you been a photographer for?
I've always had a camera of some sort in my hand or possession, since I was a small kid. Though, in my current state, I've been doing it for right at four years.
3. What is your favorite subject to photograph?
That is quite a difficult question. It really changes, a lot. Though, constants will always be creative portraits, many types of action (such as live music), and nature. I have enjoyed getting to do more of a studio setup lately. Playing with all the lighting can be quite fun and lead to great shots.
4. What is your biggest obstacle as a photographer?
Sometimes, the imposter syndrome can be all too real. I can be my own worst enemy. Besides that, the networking and marketing are always a constant battle.
5. Anything about you or The Scintillating Lens that you'd like to share?
If you have a dream, go for it. Let it grow. Go through the pains of figuring out what works and what doesn't. You may need to change some parts, but if you really put yourself into it, you can grow it. It will take time, lots of time.
Also, don't allow people to dull the spark you have for something. I did, for years...and I hate that I took so long to really let myself grow into the artist and person that I wanted.
