This Friday there is a charity event in support of my friend’s strong little girl who is battling cancer. This frozen tree in Lamar Valley at Yellowstone has always made me think of the tree of life. It was a freezing cold early morning shot. The night before there was a lot of moisture in the air. The dew froze the following morning and the whole valley looked like crystal. I took this shot just before the morning thaw began. Today was awesome! I saw four juvenile bald eagles. Conservation works, the amount of eagles around lately is mind blowing! The last known nesting pair on Long Island was on Gardiners Island in 1932, until recently. As of now there are at least 8 known nesting sites and bald eagles are spotted year round on Long Island. These four juveniles are a great sign of a growing population!
