Through the Eyes of a Photographer

On this quiet porch, she sat where generations before her once found a rare moment of rest.
The weathered boards, the rocking chair, the silence between the wind — all of it carried echoes of the past.

She wasn’t posing for the camera. She was listening.
Listening to the memory of those who had come before — to the stories whispered in the grain of the wood and the air that still held their breath.

There was no reenactment, no act of sorrow — only remembrance.
A desire to feel history rather than just learn it. To sit in the same chair her ancestors might have, not as a slave to the past, but as a survivor of it.

In that moment, the weight of history became light again.
And through the lens, stillness became strength.
