Some love stories don’t need a ballroom. They just need a city, two rings, and someone whose hand you never want to let go of.

They spent the afternoon wandering through downtown Chicago like they had nowhere else to be.

Down staircases that felt straight out of a movie. Along the Riverwalk. Between historic buildings and busy streets. Every stop became another page in the story they had already started writing together.

What I love most isn’t the skyline or the architecture.

It’s the way he keeps reaching for her hand.

The way she laughs before he even kisses her.

The tiny glances they share when they think no one is watching.

Those are the moments that tell me exactly who they are.

Your wedding day doesn’t have to be big to feel unforgettable. Sometimes all it takes is your favorite person, a city you love, and the freedom to celebrate your marriage your own way.

Chicago has a way of making intimate weddings feel cinematic, but these two would’ve made magic anywhere.

Pregnancy can feel long in the moment, but looking back, it becomes one of the shortest chapters of motherhood. The anticipation, the tiny movements, the dreams of who they’re going to become… it’s worth remembering.

Happy Father’s Day to the dads who show up. ❤️

The dads who carry toddlers on their shoulders when they’re tired.
The dads who make silly faces to get genuine smiles.
The dads who spend an hour taking photos they didn’t really want to take, because they know one day these memories will matter.

As a family photographer, I get a front-row seat to the quiet ways fathers love their families. The hand-holding, the piggyback rides, the bear hugs, the way little eyes light up when Dad walks into the frame.

To all the dads who have trusted me to capture your families over the years…thank you. Thank you for letting me preserve these chapters of your story.

And to the moms reading this: if Dad is always the one behind the camera, Father’s Day is the perfect reminder that he deserves to be in the photos too.

The laundry can wait. The fingerprints will wash off. The paint will come out of their hair eventually.

But these moments?

These are the ones you’ll wish you could bottle up forever.

Watching kids create without worrying about being perfect might be one of my favorite things to photograph. The giggles, the colorful hands, the proud little smiles when they step back to admire their masterpiece... that’s the good stuff.

As moms, we’re constantly cleaning up messes. But every now and then, it’s worth stepping back and remembering that some of life’s best memories start with a little chaos.

If summer photos are on your “maybe later” list, this is your sign that later is almost gone.

My summer calendar is filling quickly, and I only have a handful of weekend spots left. ☀️🌊

The good news? Weekday evening mini sessions at Crystal Lake Beach are the perfect way to capture those carefree summer memories without taking up an entire day. The light is beautiful, the kids can play, and we create the kind of images you’ll look back on when this season feels like a blur.

Because before we know it, the beach towels will be put away, backpacks will be back out, and another summer will be over.
